In this post, I’m recapping week two of my 2024 fall capsule wardrobe. If you missed it, check out week one outfits here. Whereas during the first week of a capsule wardrobe all the outfits are new and fresh, the second week becomes more about mixing and matching. This is when you can start getting creative with your outfits and really begin to see the benefits of having a capsule style closet.

Fall Capsule Wardrobe: Week Two Outfits
Monday: Striped Sweater + Ecru Jeans + Brown Boots

My ecru jeans are a year round staple for me. I personally love pairing them with browns and tans for a more monochromatic look. I also like how the chocolate brown in the sweater matches my shoes for a ‘sandwich’ look which is always a good strategy for creating outfits.

Tuesday: White Tee + Blazer + Black Jeans + Mary Janes

I was waiting for the weather to cool before pulling out this wool blazer, otherwise this would have been one of my first looks in the capsule. Over the past few years, a blazer has grown to be my favorite fall and spring layer. And my favorite way to wear a blazer is with a pair of straight leg jeans. I also love how this outfit looks with this pair of red Mary Jane ballet flats. This is definitely my favorite look of the week.

Wednesday: Button Down + Trench Coat + Black Pants + Ballet Flats

This affordable button down from Gap is proving to be a stand out purchase. It has this perfect oversized fit that is cool and comfortable. I love wearing it untucked like this, but you could also tuck it in if you prefer. I added a lightweight trench coat and ballet flats to complete the look.

Thursday: Fitted Sweater + Denim Jacket + Leopard Mini Skirt + Sneakers

This was a fun look to wear! I would have never paired these items together a few years ago, but I’m definitely feeling a little more brave these days when it comes to my outfits. I really love the combination of denim and leopard print, too. Check out this post for more ways to style leopard print this fall.

Friday: Striped Top + Barn Jacket + Wide Leg Jeans + Black Boots

I included this striped top in my first capsule wardrobe I shared on the blog four years ago! It’s truly a timeless piece that never goes out of style. To elevate it a bit, I paired it with this cool and trendy barn jacket (this one is super affordable!), some wide leg jeans, and a pair of black boots.

Saturday: Red Sweatshirt + Trench Coat + Black Jeans + Sneakers

For me, weekends are all about being comfortable. For a day taking my kids to their soccer games, I put together this casual outfit. I paired this cozy red sweatshirt with my trench coat, black jeans, and sneakers. I added a tee underneath to make this outfit slightly warmer, too.

Sunday: Half-Zip Sweater + Denim Jacket + Barrel Jeans + Sneakers

On Sunday, we went to see our professional women’s soccer team play, and I wore layers because we were outside most of the day. I love the way this half-zip sweater looks with this denim jacket. This sweater is made of merino wool and not itchy at all, plus it’s excellent quality. For bottoms, I wore these fun barrel jeans (you could opt for a straight leg instead.) And lastly, I wore my Sambas which was very on theme for a day at the pitch.
