What I Wore In Paris

We’re back from a dreamy trip to Paris! We took the kids and had some casual family fun around the city. I’ll be breaking down our full itinerary in my next post, but for now, I’m sharing what I wore in Paris during our eight day trip. We spent our time seeing the sights, walking the neighborhoods, and eating (a lot of eating!)

It was a bit chilly while we were there with highs in the upper 60s and lows dipping into the upper 40s along with some rain. I stuck to comfy outfits that I could move in for the daytime (we walked nearly 10 miles everyday!) and changed into a slightly more elevated look for dinner.

We didn’t have any plans that required getting dressed up. For the most part, I think Paris in general is more casual than you’d expect with one big caveat that we rarely saw athleisure, workout wear, or team/sports clothing being worn by Parisians. Stay tuned for another post with what I saw Parisians wearing.

You can see my full packing list here (I ended up wearing most of it!) along with a Paris travel capsule for you minimalist packers.

Arrival Day – Wandering the Marais & Crepes for Dinner

eyelet tank / leather jacket / wide leg jeans / leopard flats / basket bag / sunglasses / similar necklace

Once we arrived at our Airbnb rental, we rested for a bit and freshened up. I wore this top, these pants, and these sneakers on the plane if you’re curious. We had very loose plans to grab a quick bite to tide us over till dinner and wander our neighborhood for a bit before sitting down for an early crepe dinner. We were staying in the Marais which has so much shopping, and it’s also great for fashion spotting. I wore this look with a beautiful and well made eyelet top from Sézane, wide leg jeans, and leopard flats. I brought along my leather jacket which I definitely needed.

Day One: Shopping & Boat Tour on the Seine

navy tee / jacket / denim (I sized up) / mesh flats (similar) / claw clip / earrings / Sézane tote bag (sent with order)

We kept day two fairly light with activities expect for a boat tour on the Seine in the afternoon. I wore a navy tee, utility jacket, cropped denim, and black mesh flats. This jacket has drawstrings at the hips that you can pull tighter so the bottom of the jacket sits higher up as well.

Day Two: The Lourve + Jardin des Tuileries

white tee / navy sweater / off white trousers / mesh flats (similar) / sling bag (ASHLER15 for 15% off) / sunglasses / leather jacket

I wanted to wear something easy and comfortable but still chic for our trip to the Lourve. I find trousers way more comfortable than jeans (and leggings for that matter!) I bought this pair from Aritzia shortly before our trip. This is my second pair of these pants, and I find this lighter pair a bit more seasonally appropriate for the warmer months than the black pair I have. I bought the short length but had to take them up another inch and half. I paired them with a plain white tee, black mesh flats, and a navy sweater that I wore in the morning and tied around my waist for the afternoon.

Day Two: Dinner at a Bouillon Restaurant

white top / denim (I sized up) / leopard flats / leather jacket / shoulder bag / earrings / hair clip

I wore this pretty white blouse and jeans combo for a dinner out. These leopard print flats added some interest and were very comfortable walking shoes that still felt polished. I used a hair clip to pull back my hair into a half up style (see the picture below).

Day Three: Amusement Park

red tee / jacket / denim (I sized up) / sneakers / sunglasses / similar necklace / earrings (ASHLEYROHR10 for 10% off)

We planned one day for the kids which we spent at a darling Parisian amusement park. I planned a very casual outfit for walking and riding a few rides. It also rained a bit in the morning so we brought our umbrellas along as well. I’m wearing a red tee from Sézane (this is my favorite summer tee!), cropped jeans, and sneakers.

Day Three: Dinner at a Bao Restaurant

black tank (I sized up) / blue button down shirt / tailored shorts / mesh flats (similar) / similar necklace / shoulder bag / sunglasses

I had brought along a few pairs of shorts thinking there might be a few opportunities to wear them, but only one evening allowed for it. For another casual dinner, I wore this outfit – a black tank, tailored shorts, and a blue button down as a layer. I loved this look and definitely plan to wear it back home, too.

Day Four: Self Guided Central Paris Tour + Notre Dame

navy sweater / blue skirt / mesh flats (similar) / sling bag (ASHLEYR15 for 15% off) / sunglasses

A cotton maxi skirt is a nice change from jeans and trousers. I’m glad I brought this one on our trip. I wore it with a black tank layered under a navy sweater just in case the weather warmed up (it didn’t). I ended up wearing these black mesh flats a ton on our trip. I loved the edge they added to my outfits and the sheerness gives the visual of longer legs. Surprisingly, I did not see any mesh flats on other women in Paris.

Day Four: Dinner at an Italian Restaurant + Eiffel Tour

striped tank / wide leg jeans / woven ballet flats / sling bag (ASHLEYR15 for 15% off) / leather jacket / sunglasses

After some rest time (a must for us!), we changed and headed out to dinner. We went to a cute and cozy vegetarian Italian spot then took the Metro over to the Eiffel Tower for our 9:30 p.m. tickets. I wanted to call out this striped top which is the cutest and so lovely for summer. The quality is excellent, too. I paired it with my wide leg jeans and woven flats.

Day Five: Luxembourg Gardens & Wandering the Latin Quarter

striped tank / blue button down shirt / white wide leg jeans / black mesh flats (similar) / sunglasses / earrings (ASHLEYROHR10 for 10% off) / similar coin necklace

Here’s another way I styled my blue button down on the trip – over a striped tank with ecru wide leg jeans, and black mesh flats. This button down worked nicely as a light layer that could easily be removed and thrown in my tote bag.

Day Five: Dinner at a Barbecue Restaurant

cream pointelle tee / suede jacket / denim (I sized up) / leopard print flats / basket bag / similar coin necklace

This elevated tee and jeans look worked nicely for a casual dinner at a BBQ restaurant. I brought this suede jacket on the trip, but it sprinkled so much on and off that this was the only night I felt safe wearing it.

Day Six: Chocolate & Pastry Tour in St. Germain des Pres

tee / wide leg jeans / woven flats / sling bag (ASHLEYR15 for 15% off) / similar coin necklace / sunglasses

Another tee and jeans look! This is my safe place. I added some woven ballet flats for texture and my sling bag to carry the essentials. Not shown is my black leather jacket which I wore in the morning.

Day Six: Dinner at a Brasserie

black dress / mesh flats (similar) / leather jacket / black shoulder bag / similar coin necklace

I wore this Sézane dress out to dinner one night. It’s slim fitting but surprisingly flattering (Sézane does this so well!) You might not be able to tell from the photo but this dress has a tie at the waist which is a cute detail. I paired it with my black mesh flats again.

Day Seven: Versailles Palace + Pizza Dinner

black tee / leather jacket / wide leg jeans / scarf (similar) / leopard print flats / sunglasses

Our last day, we visited Versailles so I wanted something comfortable for a lot of walking and crowded spaces. I’m wearing a black tee, leather jacket, wide leg jeans, and leopard print flats (all from Sézane). I added a green scarf as an accessory – I saw scarves everywhere in Paris!
