One of my favorite brands to shop – possibly my favorite brand of all time – is Sézane. It’s the best day when a package from Sézane arrives on my doorstep. Everything I’ve purchased and been gifted from the brand has been of the highest quality. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the details of each piece. For this post, I wanted to create a Sézane capsule wardrobe for spring.
Most of the pieces I included in this Sézane capsule wardrobe are pieces I own, but I did fill it in with other items to round out the capsule wardrobe for spring. In terms of sizing, I find the sizing recomendations listed on the product pages to be pretty accurate. I find tops and dresses to be true to size while their bottoms to run small. Definitely size up in their denim and trousers. Outerwear varies – I’ve listed my recommendation below.
Sézane releases monthly collections with larger drops at the beginning of each season. These collections are typically one of a kind pieces or a special seasonal print of a best seller. Typically once those items sell out, they are gone. They also have a collection of signature pieces that they keep in stock year round like their Clyde Trench Coat, Christie Jacket, and the Max Shirt. If you’re on a budget, be sure to keep an eye out for their Archive Sales which happens in January and May or June.
For disclosure purposes, I am occasionally gifted pieces from Sézane but I also make my own purchases as well fairly often.
Sézane Capsule Wardrobe for Spring & Summer
Paolo Cardigan // I don’t own this cardigan, but it would be a great option for spring. It’s a Merino Wool and cotton blend so it will keep you warm on those chilly spring mornings but also be breathable when it warms up. This cardigan can also be worn backwards so you’ve got even more styling options – perfect for a capsule wardrobe!
Ileana Blouse // Nobody does pretty tops like Sézane. This one is currently on it’s way to me, but the brand has so many cute tops to choose from. Pick one that suits you best. I also own this one which I included in my April Capsule Wardrobe.
Max Shirt // One of my most worn tops of all time, the Max Shirt fits perfectly in a capsule wardrobe. I own this top in white, deep blue, and very light blue, but this blue stripe is ideal for spring.
Elina Mariniére // This is a classic striped tee but it’s a great quality heavyweight cotton – It’s definitely worth the price. It fits slightly cropped and boxy. I took my true size.
Marc T-Shirt // You can’t go wrong with any Sézane tees, but this is my new favorite. It has an oversized fit at true size, and the sleeves are a bit longer which gives a more polished, elegant look.
Clyde Coat // This is my favorite trench hands down. I own the green color (I love olive green!) but this tan one would be a bit more versatile. This trench has a plaid lining, and I like rolling my sleeves once so the pattern shows. I recommend taking a size down.
Will Jacket // This jacket is another one of my most worn Sézane pieces – I own it in this suede version, the black leather, and blue denim. It runs small; I recommend sizing up one.
Wallace Shorts // These shorts are a recent addition to my closet. I love the wide cut that doesn’t squeeze your legs, and for shorts, they are so chic. You can pair them with tees, tanks, button down shirts, blouses – really any top in your closet.
Le Crop Denim // Sézane has a few styles of denim (I also own this wide leg style), but this cropped denim is the most versatile in my opinion. Note that, in general, Sézane bottoms run long and small. This cropped version hits my ankle bone while on the model (whose likely fairly tall) it appears much more cropped. I also recommend always going a size up in Sézane bottoms.
Gustavo Trousers // For those of you who need workwear, I included a pair of trousers in this capsule wardrobe. I don’t own this pair, but I love the look of these. They are cropped which means they will pair well with loafers, ballet flats, or sandals. This navy pair is made with a synthetic blend, but other colors have some wool content which will be a little warmer, FYI.
Pippa Dress // This dress is a Sézane staple and has been on my wishlist for years. It’s an easy and comfortable dress option for spring and summer, and comes in several color options.
Marceau Loafers // I typically wear ballet flats over loafers, but I do like having a pair for days I want to feel polished. Loafers always elevate a simple jeans and tee look, too. I love the color and ruching detail on these ones.
Matilda Low Ballerinas // These are my current favorite shoes. Although they are leopard print, I find them so versatile. Plus, they add an interesting element to my basic outfits. I also own them in the Python print which is a bit more subtle.
Maia Basket Bag // Don’t sleep on Sézane accessories – their bags in particular. A basket bag like this is an essential if you want to embody Parisian style.
Gary Maxi Bag // Brown suede might seem like an odd choice for spring, but it adds tension and texture to a cutesy spring outfit.
