This spring and summer, I want to become more of a dress person. It’s been such a mental block for me stylewise – I’m a denim girl to my core. However, the comfort and ease of the dress life has been calling me. I’ve been shopping around for easy dresses for spring and summer, and I’ve curated a dress edit for you. These are breezy, casual dresses that work for everyday life, not just special occasions (although with a few purposeful accessories you could certainly dress these up for a special event.)
The dress I’m wearing in the photos here is from Pistola. It was recently gifted to me, but that doesn’t diminish how much I love it! The bodice is shirred and stretchy while the skirt is flowy and loose. It’s perfectly comfortable while still being chic and flattering.
Pro tip from a mom of two – if you’re nervous about wearing short dresses and don’t want to flash anyone when you bend down to pick up a kid or two, a pair of cotton biker shorts will do the trick.
Easy Dresses for Spring

Pistola Bianca Shirred Bodice Dress
Starting with the dress in the photos here, this dress from Pistola emodies the Nancy Meyer’s vibes I’m going for this summer. I took my true size.

Madewell Embroidered Mini Shift Dress
There is no dress more chic than a mini shift dress. I love this bright poppy red color and the embroidery detail on the hem. I would pair this with ballet flats (mesh ones would be cute) and flip flops, perhaps with a straw bag as an accessory.

Z Suppy Sunsought Strapless Midi Dress
This dress is perfect for fellow minimalists like myself. The shape of a slim top with a wide bottom makes for a flattering cut, and the ’90s girl in me is here for the tube top.

Boden Saoirse Smocked Jersey Dress
This striped dress from Boden is so elegant. You could dress it up with heeled sandals or wear it casually with leather flip flops. It also comes in a polka dot version that’s giving major Pretty Woman vibes.

J. Crew Lace-Trim Pintuck Midi Dress
This cotton dress was born to run through a field of tall grass! If you’re going for easy, breezy granola mom vibes this summer, this one’s for you.

I added this dress to my Sézane Spring Capsule Wardrobe. It’s one of the brand’s signature items that will never go out of style. It comes in a ton of color options if red isn’t your color.

This little gingham number from Reformation is darling. It’s a little retro, too. I can’t even stand it.

If you’re on a budget, check out this dress from Z Supply which comes in under $100. It has a smocked bodice and little thin straps which I love.

Quince 100% European Linen Tank Mini Dress
I actually own this linen shift dress from Quince. It’s such a great piece for the price, I had to include it. It’s also fully lined. You can see me wearing it in this reel.

English Factory Navy Gingham Sloane Maxi Dress
More gingham! How adorable is this dress from Tuckernuck. It’s the ties on the shoulders for me.
