Never underestimate the power of accessories to turn it outfit from boring to fabulous! To go along with my fall capsule wardrobe this year, I created a fall accessories capsule. These are the items I’m going to be using to accessorize my fall capsule wardrobe outfits.
Not only are accessories a practical addition to your outfit, they are also an opportunity to add interest. I like having accessories in different materials like suede and leather. In addition, different textures like woven and perforated leather can really make an outfit.
Fall Accessories Capsule
Gold & Silver Jewelry
I have a few special pieces of jewelry I wear almost daily from two small jewelry designers that I adore. These don’t really change much with the seasons. Silver jewelry is making a comeback trendwise so I recently added these chunky silver hoops to my jewelry collection. I also wear these regularly:
Coin Necklace
Paperclip Chain Necklace
Chunky Chain Necklace
Chunky Gold Hoops (similar)
Textured Gold Hoops

Crew Socks
As someone who is often cold, I love that socks have come back in a big way over the last few years. I’m adding them often even with unexpected shoes like ballet flats and loafers. I have this pack from Madewell that comes with beige, gray, and cream socks.
Baseball Caps
Baseball caps are not only for bad hair days; they also make a cool accessory as well. I love pairing mine with my trench coat on casual days. I love this baseball cap so much, I actually rebought it after it flew off my head and into the ocean while I was riding the ferry one day.
Red Lipstick
I always consider red lipstick an accessory! It just adds a little fun to the everyday and makes me feel a little Parisian. This is the low maintenance red lipstick I swear by. It’s really hydrating and easy to apply. It goes on light but is buildable. The shade is called Amour Fou.
Sling Bag
Sling bags are definitely my bag of choice as a mom-on-the-go. This one is surprisingly roomy and holds all my essentials including my phone, wallet, keys, lipstick, and more. The perforated leather adds beautiful texture to my outfits.
Shoulder Bag
Suede is always in for fall, but this year, it’s very trendy. This suede bag from Madewell is pretty affordable, too. It can be worn as a crossbody or shorten the strap to wear it as a (long) shoulder bag.
Crossbody Bag
Crossbody bags are also a go-to style for me. I like to keep my hands free for other things when I’m out and about. This one from Sézane is SO beautiful plus the leather is really high quality and doesn’t scratch or smudge easily. It’s an investment you’ll have for years and years.
Tote Bag
A tote bag is a must in my fall capsule. I carry this on days when I go to the coffee shop to work. It holds my laptop plus a water bottle and all the essentials. I love the woven texture and chocolate brown color of this bag from Madewell.
Sunglasses
I’ll be rotating through two pairs of sunglasses during the fall. This casual tortoiseshell avaiator style that makes me feel rather cool, and this more classic pair that I can dress up or down. I love Quince for sunglasses as they are cheap enough that I don’t stress out too much about losing them, but they are still really good quality.
Belts
To round out the capsule, I have one black and one brown leather belt. I actually ordered this set from Amazon on a whim, and though they aren’t the best quality, they work just fine! If you’re looking for something more trendy, try out a western style belt like this or a studded belt like this.
