I’ve always aspired to dress like Parisians. Parisian women have this effortless and minimal style that looks so chic without trying too hard. In this post, I’m sharing a Parisian Fall Capsule Wardrobe for 2024. In this capsule, I’ve included timeless and versatile pieces that you can style many ways. These pieces are staples in a Parisian woman’s wardrobe.

This Parisian fall capsule has ten pieces plus accessories. I’ve also put together several outfit ideas using pieces from the capsule.

How To Dress Like A Parisian

Less Is More

When I think about Parisian style, I always think effortlessly chic. To me, effortless is looking polished without trying too hard. To accomplish this, I prefer to avoid looking too ‘done up.’ If I’m wearing my hair down, I like it to look a little messy instead of perfectly styled. I also prefer my makeup to be a bit more natural, too, but usually with the classic Parisian red lip.

Choose Quality Over Quantity

I’ve purposely kept this capsule wardrobe small to show you how a few quality pieces can be used to create a variety of different outfits. Quality pieces will last you a lot longer and will also look better on.

Stick To Neutrals

I know neutral pieces may seem a bit boring to some, but in my opinion, it’s much easier to look chic in neutrals than in bright colors. Neutrals are also easier to mix and match making your wardrobe much more versatile.

Choose Timeless Pieces Over Trends

Parisians are known for their timeless style. They don’t obsess over trends and prefer pieces that will be in style for years rather than just a few seasons.

Parisian Fall Capsule Wardrobe

White Tee

A plain white tee should be in everyone’s fall capsule. This can be used to build the base of many fall outfits or worn on its own if the weather allows.

Oversized Button Down

Another great basic that can be layered or worn on its own, a quality white button down is a versatile piece for your fall capsule wardrobe. I’ve linked my favorite one from Sézane, but here is an affordable alternative that I own as well.

Striped Sweater

Stripes are the quintessential print of Parisians. Instead of a striped top, opt for a striped sweater for the same chic style in a warmer material. This sweater is another option that I own and love.

Cardigan Sweater

This classic French girl style cardigan sweater looks trés chic tucked into denim or trousers. I’ve linked this beautiful gray option from Madewell, but for a cardigan from a true French brand, try the Gaspard or the Barry from Sézane, both of which I own and highly recommend. Size down in both of those styles.

Trench Coat

A trench coat is the perfect fall layer for those of us who love Parisian style. It’s chic and practical. I’ve linked my absolute favorite one that is really great quality (see my full review here), but here is another more affordable option that gets great reviews.

Herringbone Blazer

A blazer is such a chic layering option, and this herringbone pattern is perfect for the fall. For a timeless style that will last for years, choose a blazer that has a relaxed fit but isn’t too oversized. Here and here are also good options.

Straight Leg Jeans

There are so many styles of jeans that are available right now, but for a timeless and versatile option, choose a simple straight leg cropped jean. I find these are the easiest to style for fall.

Wide Leg Trousers

Wide leg trousers are still very popular with Parisian women. They are not only comfortable and chic, but they can be styled dressy or casual depending on the occasion.

Sneakers

You’ll see this style of sneaker all over Paris. Its slim fit is chic but comfortable, and they can be styled with jeans, trousers, skirts, and dresses.

Ankle Boots

The block heel ankle boot is another shoe option that Parisians are very fond of. When choosing an ankle boot, always look for a pair with a tall and slim shaft that tucks under the hem of your jeans without showing any ankle.

Bucket Bag

I’ve included two bags in this capsule, the first being this brown suede bucket bag. I usually prefer to have a bag that matches my shoes, and I love the texture this adds to a minimal outfit.

Crossbody Bag

A crossbody bag is a practical and chic purse option. This bag from Sézane is beautiful and the quality of the leather is excellent. If you’re looking for a more affordable option, try this one.

Baseball Cap

A baseball cap is a nice accessory to have when you are running out the door, and your hair’s a bit messy. This one is so adorable, but here is a plain black option if you prefer that.

This style of sunglasses is a favorite among Parisian women.

Brown Belt

This is a classic accessory that adds interest and dimension to a simple outfit. I recommend having one in black and brown.
