Parisian Winter Outfits

For years I’ve coveted that effortlessly chic Parisian style. I follow many Parisian influencers hoping to emulate their style. I’ve researched Parisian inspired outfits on Pinterest for hours and follow many blogs written by Parisian women. I’ve eaten more than my fair share of croissants! All in the name of research, of course. So I may not live in Paris (although I’ve been there once!) or be French, but I would say I have more than the average person’s knowledge on Parisian style. In this post, I’m sharing ten Parisian winter outfits so we can achieve that certain je ne sais quoi that Parisian women seem to have.

I would describe Parisian style as minimal, chic, effortless, and classic. Their style is timeless because it doesn’t fall prey to the never ending cycle of trends. They also have achieved a practiced balance to their outfits. They combine feminine and masculine pieces, fitted and loose proportions, and dressy and casual styles into each outfit. They invest in their wardrobes and make sure each piece fits them perfectly. They wear stripes with abandon!

Crewneck Sweater With Straight Leg Jeans

This first outfit is a classic Parisian winter outfit. To ensure an effortlessness to this look, ensure your coat is oversized rather than fitted. Parisian women love their ankle boots, and I do, too. I like opting for a heeled style to give me some height. Add a chic, oversized scarf wrapped around your neck and a beautiful leather bag to complete this outfit.

Sweater Dress With Knee High Boots

A sweater dress and knee high boots are an elegant combination for winter. I recently purchased this affordable sweater dress from Amazon after seeing another influencer recommend it. I’m very impressed with the quality and fit and think it’s lovely paired with all styles of boots.

Cardigan Sweater With Trousers

This look is inspired by my favorite French brand, Sézane. The models on their site are always wearing some version of this outfit. The combination of a feminine cardigan sweater with wide leg trousers achieves that balance of masculine and feminine that French women do so well.

Lady Jacket With A Turtleneck

For this look, we are pairing a trendy collarless lady jacket with a chic turtleneck for warmth. Wide leg jeans seem to be very popular in Paris right now, but you could opt for a classic straight leg style if you prefer. I added sheer socks and ballet flats to round out this classic, feminine look.

Sweatshirt With Trousers And Slim Sneakers

I love how Parisian women pair trousers with a slim fitting sneaker for a casual, but elevated look. I added a comfortable but high quality sweatshirt, an oversized wool coat, scarf, and leather bag.

Wool Blazer With A Turtleneck And Jeans

This outfit is inspired by the very popular French influencer Jeanne Damas. I love her style, and her preference for plaid blazers. I chose a wool blend material for this blazer to add warmth in winter then opted for French classics to pair it with including straight leg denim, heeled suede ankle boots, and a leather bucket bag.

Shearling Lined Coat With Jeans and Boots

I’ve seen several French women wearing these shearling lined coats in their winter outfits. It’s such a cool look, and one I think we don’t see enough here in the U.S. The coat makes a statement all on it’s own so I chose a simple sweater/jeans/boots combination to pair it with.

Turtleneck Sweater With Mini Skirt And Mary Janes

For a dressier outfit, pair a black mini skirt with an oversized sweater worn untucked so it drapes over the skirt. These gorgeous Mary Jane heels from Sézane pair perfectly with this look and are currently on my wishlist. To make this outfit winter appropriate, add some tights and a wool coat.

For this last casual look, I’ve combined a striped sweater with my favorite Levi’s and not too clunky moto boots for a cool, yet chic look. Add a neutral puffer coat and cashmere beanie for warmth.
