This transitional time of year is when I really lean in to the biker shorts trend. I prefer to pair them with light layers and sweatshirts so wearing them in the middle of summer isn’t something I do often. If you are interested in trying this trend, but aren’t sure how to style biker shorts, keep reading. In this post, I’m showing you how to style biker shorts with six different outfit ideas.
I just recently purchased these biker shorts from Gap. The fabric is ribbed which makes them more casual and less like activewear. I took my normal size, but they do run a little small; size up if you’re in between sizes. These shorts are a good length, too, not too long or too short.
Since biker shorts are pretty casual, you’ll see that most of these outfits are for casual daywear, although, I did create some more elevated looks using some nice button downs and oversized blazers. These biker shorts outfits are the perfect casual chic look for the weekend or everyday if you’re a stay-at-home mom like me.
How To Style Biker Shorts
Cropped Sweatshirt // Biker Shorts // Sneakers // Baseball Hat // Belt Bag // Stick Earrings
This is the identical look I shared in my recent post on how to wear athleisure (see the full post here.) I love the look of a cropped sweatshirt with biker shorts or leggings, but you could also swap for an oversized sweatshirt if you’re more comfortable with your bottom covered.
Ribbed Tank // Biker Shorts // Oversized Button Down // Birkenstocks (more sizes here) // Shoulder Bag // Coin Necklace
Pairing a cropped tank with a button down worn open is super on trend right now. This ribbed tank and biker shorts are a matching set so they obviously pair well together. This one is slightly cropped, and only shows a tiny bit of midriff when wearing high waisted bottoms like these biker shorts.
Button Down // Biker Shorts // White Sneakers // Shoulder Bag (code ASHLEYR15) // Chain Necklace (code ASHLEYR15) // Sunglasses
Try combining a button down with biker shorts which creates a more elevated look than pairing them with a oversized t-shirt; although, I wear that outfit, too occasionally.) I first shared this button down as part of my budget friendly fall capsule wardrobe. See the post here. You could also just wear a white button down as well.
Sweatshirt // Biker Shorts // High Top Converse // Shoulder Bag // Baseball Hat // Round Sunglasses
Here’s a cool girl look for you! For this outfit, I would go up one or two sizes in your sweatshirt to create an oversized look. Adding some high top Converse and a neutral baseball hat take this outfit up a notch. And, although, it may seem fancy, I love pairing a nice leather bag with a casual look to elevate the outfit further.
Beige Blazer // Cropped Tank // Biker Shorts // Black Mules // Tote Bag // Gold Hoops
Blazers are my jam and pairing them with biker shorts is one of my favorite ways to wear them. You’ll see the next outfit I posted also includes a blazer as well! I just purchased these mules in brown (I already own a pair of black loafers), and they have a trendy lug sole that makes them feel a little more modern.
Black Blazer // Cropped Tee // Biker Shorts // White Sneakers // Shoulder Bag (code ASHLEYR15) // Sunglasses
This last blazer look is one of my favorites. When choosing a blazer to pair with biker shorts, make sure it is oversized; you don’t want a fitted blazer with tight fitting biker shorts. I’ve found nice blazers at H&M for a great price. They do sell out quickly, but they usually always have a similar one available so keep checking back.
