I hit up Costco today while my kids were at preschool, and I thought I would share what I picked up. We’ve had a Costco membership for almost a year now, and we usually only use it for snacks and frozen items. I’ve found that when we buy any fresh foods we aren’t able to use it up before it goes bad.
We like to eat (mostly) healthy foods so that’s what you’ll find in this haul. Enjoy!
Frozen Foods

I really like these Jones Frozen Chicken Sausage Links. They aren’t too spicy for the kids, and we can heat them up in a pan or the microwave for a quick breakfast protein. They also sell a pork variety.

These frozen mini chicken wontons are one of Danny’s regular requests. He heats them up for a quick weekend lunch.

I always grab tons of organic frozen fruit when I’m there. These three (cherries, blueberries, and mango) are our favorites. We use them in smoothies all the time. I also will defrost some to use for the kid’s meals when I’m out of fresh fruit (I always serve them a fruit with every meal).
Cheese

I only picked up this organic string cheese today, but sometimes I’ll grab a big block of Cheddar cheese (usually the Tillamook brand) as well as some Babybel Cheese.
Packaged Food/Snacks
This is where I spend the bulk of our money. Costco has great prices on healthy snack items and baking goods.

We use this avocado oil spray for everything.

We go through tons of maple syrup in our house. We have pancakes, waffles or French toast almost every Sunday morning, and I like to use it as a natural sweetener in muffins and baked oatmeal.

These all fruit bars are great for taking to the park when you need to grab a quick, but small snack for the kids that won’t fill them up too much.

Costco also has good prices on nut butters. I picked up this almond butter for myself, but I also buy the organic peanut butter for the kids.

I really like these RXBars for my afternoon snack. They are made with great ingredients and they have some protein to fill me up. I don’t like any of the fruit flavored RXBars, but the peanut butter and chocolate varieties are tasty.

My kids love these Z Bars by Clif Kid. They call them ‘Zebra’ bars.

Another kid favorite are these granola minis by Made Good. They are free of common allergens and made with vegetable puree. The package says they include one serving of vegetables. I’ll take it!

This is a new item I’ve never purchased. My kids like Pirate’s Booty, and I’m hoping this is a slightly healthier option for them. These cheese puffs are made with chickpeas (as opposed to corn). We will see if they pass the kid test!

I always grab a big package of cereal when I go to Costco. We usually alternate between Honey Nut Cheerios and these Quaker Oatmeal Squares.

Simple Mills is a great brand if you’re looking for gluten-free snacks and baked goods. This is the only item they sell at Costco. I eat these crackers with chicken or tuna salad. I also serve them in my kid’s lunches alongside cheese and deli turkey.

These are all for Mama! I’m lucky Danny doesn’t really snack so I get to keep these all for myself. These Perfect Bars have a great ingredient list compared to other protein bars, and they taste great, too.

This is THE BEST marinara sauce. Rao’s has ruined me for all other sauces (besides homemade, of course, but even then if you count the work homemade sauce takes, this wins almost every time).

The last item is this variety pack of Annie’s Organic Macaroni and Cheese. Almost every Saturday night is mac and cheese night at our house (Danny and I order take out). Its the meal that wins every. single. time. No complaints whatsoever.
That is everything I picked up today. I hope that gives you some ideas for your next Costco trip!
