In this post, I’m showing you how to style a basic white tee. It is the first post in a mini series I’m starting this month where I’m styling various spring closet essentials several different ways. I hope these posts will give you some spring outfit inspiration! It is one of my favorite seasons for clothes.
The white tee – I’m sure all of you reading this have one. It can be worn SO many different ways. I’ve included six here, but I could probably come up with at least twenty more. It’s a closet staple that can easily be dressed up or down depending how how you style it.
The tee I’m styling today is this one from Everlane. It is one of my favorite white tees because of the boxy oversized fit and crew neck style. I find the quality on Everlane tees to be excellent. A sizing note – I sized up one to a small for a looser fit, but you could stay true to size, too.
As far as spring styling goes, especially for colder climates, you’ll usually need an extra layer to get you through those chilly mornings so I’ve included a variety of outerwear options here.
LOOK ONE: White Tee + Black Jeans + Woven Mules
Tee // Jeans (more sizes here, similar) // Mules // Bag (old, similar) // Sunglasses
I live for simple, but modern looks like this. I’m really a jeans and tee girl at heart, and if it wasn’t for the weather you’d probably find me in an outfit like this everyday. These woven mules were my birthday gift this year, and I’m so excited to pull them out for spring. I really love pairing black tones with brown tones like the tan color of these mules.
LOOK TWO: White Tee + Denim Jacket + Faux Leather Leggings + Sneakers
White Tee // Denim Jacket (old from Walmart, similar) // Faux Leather Leggings // Sneakers // Bag (old, similar)
This is a mom look if I ever saw one. Sneakers for chasing after your kids, a big tote bag for stuffing ALL THE THINGS for every situation, and stretchy pants for bending over to clean up thrice daily milk spills. This denim jacket is a favorite affordable find, but it sold out quickly last year. I’m linking a similar option at the same price point. Note that I’ve also tucked in my shirt here to define my waist a bit, but you could leave your tee untucked if that’s more comfortable for you.
LOOK THREE: White Tee + Shacket + Mom Jeans + Sneakers
White Tee // Shacket (sold out, similar, similar) // Mom Jeans // Sneakers
Taking that fall and winter shacket into spring! In this post, I shared how to transition your shacket for warmer weather. I know I’m always cold though so although this shacket is kind of heavy, I’ll definitely be wearing mine till May at least in the mornings. Also, these affordable mom jeans have become a favorite of mine since I purchased them last month. I sized down one in them.
LOOK FOUR: White Tee + Faux Leather Jacket + Jeans + Leopard Mules
White Tee // Faux Leather Jacket (limited stock, similar) // Jeans // Mules
I know some people would consider a leather jacket more of a fall piece, but I actually love wearing it in spring. It pairs well as a contrasting item to feminine spring dresses or tops. I’ve had these leopard mules for over a year, and they’ve held up so well for how much I’ve worn them. Highly recommend!
LOOK FIVE: White Tee + Cardigan + Jeans + Woven Mules
White Tee // Cardigan (similar) // Jeans (limited stock, similar) // Woven Mules
This cream colored cardigan is getting a lot of action right now in my daily life. The cream color keeps selling out, but it appears to be getting restocked so if it’s sold out now, keep checking back! I’ve linked a similar version at the same price point.
LOOK SIX: White Tee + Cardigan + Jeans + Woven Mules
Black Blazer // White Tee // Black Skinny Jeans // White Mules // Sunglasses
This is my favorite look of the bunch. This outfit makes me feel like a bad ass business woman, but it’s also comfortable because in real life I’m caring for little children all day. These white mules are new (a birthday gift bought with a gift card from my parents). I’m slowly upgrading my spring shoe collection!
I hope you enjoyed this style session. The white tee is the most basics of basics, and I hope I’ve shown you how versatile it is. This will be my first spring essentials style post, and I’m planning on sharing a few more in the next few weeks. As always, thank you for checking out my blog!
