Today is the first winter style session of my nine classic winter essentials. Check out that post for the nine items you should have to build the base of your winter wardrobe! In this post, I’m going to be showing you how to style a camel coat. I’ve said this before, but it is truly one of the most versatile coats you can buy for the winter.
I’ve shown a variety of looks here, from dressy to casual. A camel coat is perfect for them all. I’ve linked several camel coat options at the bottom of this post if you’re shopping for one. I have the Abercrombie Dad Coat which is a more classic structured style. I have my true size XS in the petite version.
If you prefer a more drapey fit or one that is a little longer, check out the options below. I recommend purchasing one with at least a little wool content as that will keep you warmer.
How To Style A Camel Coat
Try a tonal look with white denim and a cream colored sweater

Sweater // Denim (old from Everlane, similar, similar, similar) // Ankle Boots (low stock, similar, similar) // Camel Coat // Necklace
A tonal look with similar colors in the same shade is so on trend right now. I especially love this look in winter. It is so CHIC! This exact denim is an old version from Everlane, and many retailers don’t really stock white in the winter, but I’ve linked a few similar options above!
Try an all black casual look

Black Sweatshirt // Leggings // Wool Sneakers // Camel Coat // Hat (sold out; similar)
This is a perfect weekend look for winter. I love pairing my camel coat with an all black outfit. This is definitely casual but still looks elevated. For more elevated looks with leggings, check out this post.
Pair with a white tee and sneakers

White Tee // Camel Coat // Denim // Sneakers (size up a full size) // Tote Bag
My white tee is my most worn item in my closet. It goes with everything and layers well for cold weather looks. White and camel are a lovely color combination. Pair your white tee with your favorite sneakers (I like this neutral ones from ABLE), and a big ol’ tote bag.
Go classic with a sweater and ankle boots

Sweater // Camel Coat // Denim // Ankle Boots
This is your basic Parisian look – a sweater paired with straight leg denim, and some heeled ankle boots. It’s classic, chic, and one of my go-to’s for winter. This alpaca sweater from Everlane is so cozy. It does have a looser weave so layer with a long-sleeved tee for extra warmth. This exact color is no longer available, but there are still a few other lovely color options.
Try a camel and gray color combination

Gray Long-Sleeved Tee // Camel Coat // Denim // Sneakers (low stock; similar) // Beanie (color sold out; similar)
Gray and camel are one of my favorite color combinations whether it be a sweater or tee like this one. Pair it with a light wash denim and sneakers for another casual look.
Pair with a black turtleneck and lug-sole boots

Turtleneck // Camel Coat // Denim // Boots (low stock, similar) // Sunglasses
For a trendy look, pair your camel coat with a black turtleneck and black lug-sole boots. These boots have low stock right now, but seem to be restocked pretty often so check back!
Dress it up with a skirt and a white button down

White Button Down // Plaid Skirt (size down one) // Camel Coat // Heels
This is not something I would normally wear for my casual life, but I wanted to show the versatility of a camel coat by giving you a look that would be good for the office.
I hope this post gave you some styling ideas for your camel coat. Keep checking back over the next few weeks as I will continue this series of styling classic winter essentials!
