Leggings are a part of most people’s wardrobe so I’m sure you have a pair. I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely felt like my leggings looks could use a little upgrade lately. If you’re needing a few more leggings outfit ideas, keep reading. I’m sharing seven ways to elevate your leggings outfits today on the blog, from adding cool accessories to unexpected pairings to interesting layered looks.
The leggings I’m styling today are the Zella Live In High Waist Pocket 7/8 Leggings. I like these specific ones because they are a heavier weight which makes them a little better for colder weather. They also have a pocket on the side, and the 7/8 length makes them an excellent option for petites. I’m wearing the XS which is my true size.
Seven Ways To Elevate Your Leggings Outfit
ONE: Wear All Black And Add A Camel Coat

Sweatshirt // Leggings // Camel Coat // Boots // Sunglasses
For this look, I went with my black crewneck sweatshirt and black boots and added a camel coat. The mix of brown and black is one of my favorite color combinations. I added some wool socks (my husband’s!) to keep my ankles warm and some gold frame sunglasses to complete the look. This one would also work with a trench coat or even a long line sweater blazer like this. These boots may have limited sizing, but check back. They get restocked often.
TWO: Pair A Washed Black Denim Jacket With A White Tee And White Sneakers

Tee // Denim Jacket (c/o) // Leggings // Sneakers // Bag
It’s really hard not to look cool in a washed black denim jacket. This one was gifted to me through my partnership with ABLE. You can use code ASHLEYR20 for 20% off your purchase. I’m wearing the XXS which is definitely a more cropped fit for me. If you prefer an oversized fit, I suggest sizing up one.
THREE: Wear A Hoodie Under A Leather (Or Faux Leather) Jacket

Hoodie // Faux Leather Moto Jacket (limited sizing, similar) // Leggings // Sneakers (c/o)
This combination of a hoodie paired with a leather jacket will never go out of style for me. I recently picked up this affordable hoodie sweatshirt from Target, and I just love the warm brown color It’s super soft, too. For cold weather outfits, try wearing wool sneakers to keep those tootsies warm. You could add some crew socks, too.
FOUR: Wear An Oversized Sweater With Loafers

Sweater (c/o) // Leggings // Loafers (out of stock, similar) // Bag (c/o)
To dress up a leggings look, try wearing a nice oversized sweater with loafers. You might actually be able to pull this look off as workwear (depending on the quality of your leggings). Adding a nice leather bag elevates this leggings look even further.
FIVE: Elevate A Simple Sweatshirt And Leggings Outfit With Cool Accessories

Sweatshirt // Leggings // Sneakers (size up a full size) // Belt Bag // Sunglasses // Beanie
It’s so easy to take your leggings outfit up a notch by added some trendy accessories. This olive green belt bag definitely adds the cool factor to this look along with some oversized square frame sunglasses, and a well-fitting beanie.
SIX: Try A Trendy Half Zip Sweatshirt and Baseball Cap

Sweatshirt // Leggings // Sneakers // Baseball Cap (c/o)
A half zip sweatshirt is an easy way to add interest to your leggings outfit. The half zip detail combined with a baseball cap is a good mix of cool and casual.
SEVEN: Try Pairing A White Button Down With A Sweater Coat or Long Cardigan

White Button Down // Sweater Coat (size down one) // Leggings // Mules (old from Madewell, similar)
I purchased this sweater coat from Madewell during the Black Friday sales, and it is trés chic. It’s definitely worth the price and is actually still 20% off right now. This look is simultaneously elegant and and cozy.
I hope this post gave you some inspiration for your leggings outfits. I know I’ll be using a few of these in the coming weeks. For more fall style sessions, check out this post with five ways to style a flannel and this post with denim and black blazer outfit ideas.
