I’ve been writing out my yearly goals on the blog since 2021 (check the bottom of this post to see those posts!) I LOVE making goals. It sets my intentions for the year and helps me focus when I’m feeling scattered. I have six goals in mind for 2026. These span all different areas of my life from personal, business, health, and relationships.
2026 Goals & Aspirations
Practice French Daily
Okay, so this was on my goals list for last year, and I didn’t make much headway. However, this spring, we are traveling to Paris as a family (the flights are booked!) so I have a much bigger incentive to focus on practicing my French this year. I have a subscription to Babbel, but if any of you have recommendations for learning a new language (apps, online courses, etc.) please let me know.
Explore Chicago and the Surrounding Areas
Now that we are pretty much settled in our new home, I want to make a point to visit places in the city. There are SO many activities to do here, and not only do I want to do/see/eat all the things, I also want to get a recommendations list going for the blog. It’s something I get asked about quite often, and I want to be able to give you some ideas! We also have a few trips near Lake Michigan planned for the summer which I’m very excited for.
Make Some Friends
Ha, this sounds a little sad at first glance, but we are new to the area and don’t really know that many people yet. I want to put myself out there more to meet other women in Chicago. This is probably the most nerve racking goal for me as a certified introvert, but I’m going to make it happen this year.
Eat More Fruits & Vegetables
If ever there was a more stereotypical New Year’s goal, this is it, lol. After not being able to eat fiber due to my Crohn’s flare, I’ve finally gotten back to a pretty normal diet in the past few months which is so nice, but TBH, I haven’t been eating that healthily. I’m aiming for five servings of produce a day.
Be More Consistent With Content Creation
This is something I have struggled with in the past few years due to moving and the ups and downs of my health, but I’m finally in a good place (settled in our home and in good health!) so I’m really going to prioritize producing quality content here and on Instagram consistently week to week.
Focus on Deep Work
I just finished this book, and it has really inspired me to be more intentional with my work time. Being a content creator means you are constantly exposed to social media, and it can be VERY distracting. I want to spend a few hours a day in deep work – meaning undistracted content creation with no scrolling and no email check ins.
