I hope you all had a wonderful and rejuvenating holiday break. I spent the last week in my sweats basically being a sloth, and now I’m ready to jump back in to my routine. At the beginning of each year, I like to set some goals that I will try to accomplish in the coming year. In this post, I’m reviewing my 2022 goals and sharing my goals for 2023. Some are more personal and others are business related.
Review Of My 2022 Goals
FIrst, let’s review last year’s goals and see how I did.
Complete the Tighter Together challenge: I checked this one off the list and also signed up for the challenge this year as well. I think this challenge is just a great way to refocus on healthy habits after an indulgent holiday season.
Start an email list: About halfway through the year, I did start an email list, and it’s been growing each day. I do not take for granted the fact that you allow me and my ramblings to show up in your inbox so thank you if you are a subscriber. If not, you can sign up here!
Reduce waste in my home: This one was kind of a failure. I never did buy those swedish dish cloths I talked about. I did receive some more Stasher bags for Christmas, and I’m planning to use those instead of freezer bags.
Set up more systems to increase efficiency in my work processes: This one was kind of a bust, too. I started with good intentions, but life always gets in the way. It’s something I plan on working on again this year. I even just signed up for Asana to try to organize my tasks.
Read 24 books: Reviewing my Goodreads profile, I read 22 books in 2022. I’m sure I forgot to log a few so I’m calling this one a win.
Join Tiktok: I did end up joining Tiktok early in 2022, but I didn’t end up posting anything for a few months. My goal this year is to be more consistent with this app.
Increase my video content: I posted lots more reels in 2022. It’s a totally different skill than photography so there was definitely a learning curve, but I’m proud of everything I’ve learned this year.
Go on more adventures: I had planned to travel with Danny on one of his work trips to NYC, but that didn’t happen. Danny ended up switching jobs and no longer travels to New York regularly. However, we took three family vacations to New Orleans, Seattle, and Chicago. We have lots more adventures planned for 2023!
Five Goals For 2023
Eat More Plant Based Meals
We all know that eating less meat is better for the environment and our health. I used to be vegan back when I was struggling with Crohn’s disease. I plan to start by having at least one vegetarian dinner each week and also keeping my breakfasts meat free as well.
Be More Consistent On Tiktok
As I mentioned above, I joined Tiktok in 2022, but I’m not very consistent about posting content there. I don’t know why it’s so intimidating to me when unpolished and less formal content is more embraced on Tiktok than on Instagram.
Take My Probiotic Everyday
I have not been very good about taking my probiotic daily, and as someone who struggles with digestive issues, it’s really something I need to be more consistent with. I can’t take it on an empty stomach so I plan to take it everyday with breakfast.
Simplify and Organize My Life
Sounds like a big ask, right? LOL. I am really wanting to embrace a simple and more minimal lifestyle in 2023. I’m starting with creating a capsule wardrobe for winter 2023 that I’ll be sharing soon. I also plan to organize a small part of my house each weekend. Over the break, we have been working on selling and donating stuff that has been in our basement for years, and I feel mentally lighter each time we get rid of something.
Post More Consistently On My Blog
This year is all about consistency! I generally try to post 3-4 posts a week on my blog, but many weeks it was only one or two and some weeks none at all, especially over the summer when my kids were home. I really want to maintain a consistent posting schedule this year.
