Summertime is for carefree living so I’m putting a hold on any serious books and sticking to easy summer beach reads for the next few months. If you’re feeling the same, I’ve got ten books to add to your summer reading list. Some of these books I’ve read over the years and would absolutely recommend for your poolside or beach enjoyment and a few are on my to-read list. All have that easy, witty, and romantic element (some with a little extra spice!)
Ten Summer Beach Reads

Henry’s latest book was another instant bestseller (it was released in April and already amassed almost 40,000 reviews on Amazon.) You can always count on Henry for witty and sexy writing with a good romantic storyline to boot. In this novel, Daphne and Miles end up roommates after their significant others end up falling for each other. I love a good opposites attract story, and this one has it.

The Jetsetters By Amanda Eyre Ward
This one is less romcom than the others on this list, but it’s got a good travel theme going and I know many of you are seeing the sights this summer. This novel begins when a mother wins a contest for a trip through Europe for her family. I read this one a few years ago, and I remember enjoying the references to the magical and historical cities I long to visit.

The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand
I included this one on my best books of 2023 list, and I think the summertime would be the perfect time to read it. The way Hilderbrand writes about the dreamy East Coast town of Nantucket makes me want to book a summer trip there someday. If you’re new to this author, her books are easy reads, but the characters and storylines are a bit more serious and less cheesy than other romcom novels.

The Summer Pact by Emily Giffin
I’ve read almost all of Emily Giffin’s books over the years. This one actual releases next week! If you’re looking for a beach read with limited smut but plenty of romance, this author would be good for you!

American Royals by Katharine McGee
This is the first book in the American Royals series (they are four books total.) Start now and you can make it through the series by the end of the summer. If you like following the royal family, this series is perfect for you. In this novel, instead of a democratic government, Americans have a royal family that rules the country. It’s an entertaining read for sure.

Just For The Summer by Abby Jimenez
This one is on my summer reading list after seeing good reviews. In this romcom book, two people get together just for the summer, but their fling turns into serious feelings.

People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry
Another Emily Henry novel, I read this one last year, and really enjoyed it. It’s a friends to lovers storyline which usually isn’t my favorite, but I got into it. This one has a little romance and some spiciness, too.

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
My favorite romcom authors, Christina Lauren are always good for a beach read, but this one takes place on Maui so it’s especially fitting. This novel has an enemies to lovers storyline which is my favorite (I’m not sure what that says about me.)

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune
I bought this book for the plane ride to Kansas City. It takes place on Prince Edward Island, a dreamy location for summering on the East Coast of Canada. I’m really liking it so far!

The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
I haven’t read this one yet, but with that title and this author, you can’t go wrong. In this novel, Anna and Liam have a sham marriage that turns into real feelings. I especially love the witty, strong, and independent female characters in a Christina Lauren novel. I’m definitely reading this one this summer!
