I love the beginning of a new year and the chance for a fresh start. I also enjoy the process of reflecting on the past year and setting intentions for the year ahead. In this post, I’m sharing seven of my goals for 2021.
2020 was quite a year wasn’t it? I don’t think any of us expected that dumpster fire to occur, and I’m guessing that many of your goals and aspirations for the 2020 year were put aside in favor of just surviving. That was certainly the case for me.
However, I am setting some goals for the year ahead. I truly love the process of setting goals and intentions at the beginning of the year. January through March is the hardest time of the year for me. It’s cold and dark an, especially now, there isn’t much going on. It can get depressing at times. Setting goals gives me something to accomplish and work towards.
My 2021 Goals
Style:
I want to start investing more in classic pieces that will last. I bought a few items this year that seemed to fall apart after 2 or 3 wears. I hate that. It seems like such a waste of money and resources. This will obviously mean buying fewer items overall which I think is a good goal for me as well.
Along with the previous goal, I’d like to make more clothing purchases from sustainable companies. I have quite a few items from Everlane, but have yet to explore other brands.
Health:
Complete the Tighter Together challenge in January, and continue to consistently workout afterwards with the Madeline Moves app. I started using the Madeline Moves fitness app in April of this year when I was looking for at home workouts. I can’t tell you how much I love it. I’ve never exercised more consistently or more efficiently.
Another health related goal is to begin working out in the mornings before the kids get up. I did this in the summer and through the fall, but when the weather turned cold and dark, I just couldn’t bring myself to get out of bed early. But it is so much easier to work out when you’re not interrupted 80 times by your kids so I’d like to make this a habit.
Motherhood:
This one is a bit vague, but I’d like to have more patience with my kids. Given the current stresses with the pandemic and all the other shit going down last year, I haven’t been the best at giving my kids grace and patience. I want to work on this.
Hobbies:
I mentioned this in my last post, but my goal is to read 24 books this year. That’s about 2 per month, and I think that’s a pretty reasonable goal for me.
Grow my new blog. I’m having so much fun working on my blog/Instagram account. It’s been invigorating to have a hobby for myself outside of being a mother. I love sharing outfits, style ideas and motherhood posts, and connecting with you all.
