Today I’m sharing my winter capsule wardrobe. It seems like it took me ages to put this together. After sorting through my cold weather wardrobe I had packed away, I realized I was severely lacking in sweaters and boots this season. I did some well-planned and thoughtful shopping to fill in those gaps, and I’m so excited to share what I purchased!
I made the decision to invest in some well-made sweaters this year. In year’s past, I just purchased a few sweaters from Target, and while I think that is a great budget-friendly option, I found that those sweaters either began to pill so fast or lost their shape after a wash or two. One of the sweaters I’m most excited about is this striped sweater from Banana Republic. It has a lovely chic look with a mock-neck and wide-cut sleeves. I originally purchased the regular size, but the sleeve length was way too long. The petite version fits much better for me.
In creating this winter capsule wardrobe, I didn’t want to limit myself to just a few pairs of jeans. I have many, and I find that each pair fits best with certain shoes depending on the length and cut. Instead, I listed out my jeans by wash, and added in each style I have for each wash. I love and wear each pair often so I wasn’t about to give them up for three months!
I’ve listed out each category below – tops, outerwear, bottoms, and shoes. I’ll be sharing a winter accessories capsule soon, too! I tried to list what size I went with for each item, but I’d be happy to answer any specific sizing questions in the comments or send me a message on Instagram.
