ashley wearing an Everlane white tee; a J.Crew sweater blazer, washed black Madewell perfect vintage jeans standing in front of a gray wall

Happy weekend, guys! I know I say it all the time, but the spring weather is making me so freaking happy. It’s like coming out of a dark cloud you didn’t realize you were in. It’s easier to wake up in the mornings, the evenings are staying lighter longer, and we are soaking up all the vitamin D.

We went to the zoo this week, and it was absolutely perfect weather. We usually go in the summer when it’s hot and humid, and the zoo is so crowded. I highly suggest going early this year if you can; the experience was so much more pleasant. We don’t have many plans for the weekend, but we are having dinner with my parents which I’m pretty excited about. We’ve been avoiding indoor visits for months, but now that they are both vaccinated, we feel safe seeing them for longer periods. I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. I might cry.

Three new posts went live on the blog this week. On Monday, I shared a new style session featuring the basic white tee. It’s one of my closet staples! I shared a video on Insta, too. If you want to know more about me, I shared a little ‘get to know me’ post this week. I go in to my background, my family, and why I started this little blog. If you’re looking for affordable spring clothes for your kids, I got you covered here.

Links From The Week

Reminder! It’s Daylight Savings Time this Sunday morning. Set your clocks forward one hour!

We watched the Oprah interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry this week, and just, wow. I don’t follow the Royal family headlines much, but I do LOVE The Crown on Netflix, so I’m not surprised by her remarks. It is really disappointing that she wasn’t provided the help she needed at such a crucial time. And also, the racism. Terrible.

We made Ambitious Kitchen’s Healthy Sloppy Joes on Sunday, and they were so delicious. Good family friendly meal idea!

We are halfway through the Savage Sweat Challenge hosted by City Shape, a Kansas City company that has online on-demand classes taught by local fitness instructors. I’ve been loving the variety of workouts they offer which include everything from quick HIIT workouts to stretchy yoga flows.

Madewell is having another sale – 20% off $100 or 30% of $200. This would be a great time to pick up a pair of quality denim you’ve been eyeing. Madewell has the most flattering jeans! I love this style the best. I also shared my picks from the previous sale in this post.

I’m planning on cooking up a feast for St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday! I’ll probably make corned beef with potatoes and cabbage. And I’m definitely picking up a loaf of Farm to Market’s Irish Soda Bread (so good!).

Bianca from Little House in OP shared this Crockpot Tuscan Chicken, and I’m definitely putting in on our menu soon!

I’m in need of some new masks so I just ordered this animal print pack from Old Navy.

This chicken salad uses greek yogurt instead of mayo. This will be so good when the weather warms up!

Everything you need to know about the COVID relief bill.

Have you tried the new Starbucks drink that’s all the rage? I’m a big fan of oat milk in my espresso drinks so I’ll definitely be grabbing one soon. Kale Kouture shared an at home version that looks yummy, too.

That’s all I’ve got for you this week! Enjoy your weekend!
