I came down with a vicious cold that hit like a ton of bricks Thursday afternoon and kept me holed up on the couch till Sunday. Thankfully, our cat Prue, decided to snuggle up next to me the entire time in solidarity. I also shared on Instagram that I had an appointment with a gastroenterologist after ten years away to discuss some symptoms that I have been experiencing for the past year. If you’re new here, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in my early 20s, had surgery, then managed my symptoms on my own without medication or other interventions for over a decade. I had put off the appointment for several months in hopes that my issues would resolve on their own, but unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. I have several tests scheduled over the next few weeks to restage my disease and figure out the best next steps. I’m hoping for some relief and healing over the next few months.
Besides these recent health struggles, (is winter over yet!) we are prepping for our upcoming trip to Hawai’i. Danny is the itinerary guy so he is making most of the plans and reservations. I have a couple busy weeks ahead in hopes of prepping some content for my week away. The blog never sleeps!
STYLE
Here’s the outfits I wore this week. You can find links to all these outfits on the Daily Looks page of my blog.
FOOD
We made a couple tried and true recipes this week including this noodle stir fry from Pinch of Yum. It’s such an easy meal to throw together with pantry ingredients. Make sure you get that tofu nice and crispy! We also made this lentil soup (super flavorful) and these healthy banana muffins that we’ve made probably 50 times and that my family housed within 20 minutes of coming out of the oven.
ENTERTAINMENT
We finished the latest season of Queer Eye, and it had me in tears every night. Just the best. I also watched almost the entire first season of Friends while resting on the couch. It’s my comfort show.
