Another fall wishlist item that I recently acquired is the Sézane Christie Jacket. I originally wanted the camel color but saw this newly released terracotta color and couldn’t resist. It is such a beautiful piece but definitely an investment. In this post, I’m doing a review of the Sézane Christie Jacket, including material, fit and sizing, features, and overall impressions.
The Christie Jacket is one of Sézane’s signature pieces meaning it is always in stock, and when a new collection launches, they release new colors and styles in the same pattern. You’ll see they have a variety of colors available right now, including the classics like black, camel, and navy, but also some additional prints and patterns like houndstooth and cyan.
Note that I receive a monthly credit to shop at Sézane, but this review is not sponsored, and I truly love the brand.
Review of the Sézane Christie Jacket

Material Composition
Let me start off by saying the feel of this jacket is SO luxe. It’s made of 53% recycled polyester, 43% wool, and 4% elastane. The wool gives this blazer more warmth than typical blazers from other retailers while the elastane gives it a little stretch (although not much!) I should note that this is the composition of this color, but the other colorways may vary. The neutral options have a similar makeup to this color, but the houndstooth is meant for cooler weather and has a greater percentage of wool while the floral option is made of linen.

Features of the Christie Jacket

Sometimes the pictures on Sézane’s site don’t show the product details very well (although the pictures are stunning!) so I wanted to give you a breakdown of the different features in this jacket.
This blazer is double breasted with two buttons on each side with the ability to button one along with a line of four smaller functional buttons on each cuff. It has two pockets with flaps at the hips and one breast pocket (you’ll need to remove the stitches to make them functional.) It has a slit in the back and thin shoulder pads for structure, and it is also fully line throughout.
Fit & Sizing

You’re probably reading this to determine your size so let’s get into it. Compared to other brands, in general, Sézane runs small. This is typical of European brands. I almost always go with my larger size in their pieces. For reference, I typically vacillate between a size 0 and size 2, and I went with the size 2 (size 32 in European sizing and what your tag will read.)
I will say it does run small through the shoulders even at this larger size so if you have broad shoulders or plan on layering your jacket with sweaters, I would size up at least one.
In terms of fit, while this blazer has a more relaxed fit, it is not meant to fit oversized like the extra trendy blazers you may be seeing around these days. This has a more classic shape that fits slimmer to the body. I think it is the perfect mix of classic and on trend, and I love knowing that it will be in style for years to come.
Overall Impressions

I honestly have yet to find a Sézane piece that I don’t love so you probably know how this is going to end. For me, the Christie Jacket is a big winner. It is the most well made I own, and I know I will be wearing it for years and years.
For styling, I’ll probably be wearing mine with jeans most of the time since my lifestyle is pretty casual, but if you need a suit this one would be perfect. You could grab a pair of their ultra chic trousers to match. What a look that would be; sometimes I wish I had to dress up for the office!
If you want a longer blazer, try the Michele Jacket which is very similar but has three buttons instead of two and a few inches more length.
