Dressing for mom life doesn’t have to mean athleisure. My style never really aligned with athletic wear, and I don’t really enjoy wearing leggings except for my workouts. I’ve been a mom for eight years now, and throughout that time I’ve developed a personal style that feels cool and casual but also very mom-friendly. I almost never wear athleisure (although if that’s your personal style – go for it!) All my Daily Looks I share here on my blog are mom tested and approved. In this post, I’m sharing a mom-friendly outfit idea to try featuring some new pieces from Sézane’s spring collection. This is a look I would wear on a day out with my kids whether it’s to the park, sports or other activities, and school pickups.
Mom Friendly Outfit Idea To Try

Cardigan // Jeans // Sandals // Bag // Sunglasses // Necklace (ASHLEYROHR10 for 10% off)
I’m going to break down this outfit for you to highlight the aspects of this look that make it very mom-friendly. Note that these pieces were gifted from Sézane, but this blog post is not sponsored. See more of my favorites from Sézane here.

THE EASY UNTUCKED CARDIGAN
This cardigan is such an easy piece to wear. It drapes perfectly and is slightly cropped so it doesn’t require any tucking. For my girlies that are sensitive to wool, this cardigan is also 100% cotton so it won’t be itchy. It comes in a chocolate brown color as well if that’s more your vibe. I have my true size XS.

RELAXED FIT JEANS
A relaxed fit pair of slim straight cropped jeans is the mom friendly style of denim you need for a day out with kids. This pair from Agolde is a nice light wash for spring. They are 100% cotton and are a non-stretch denim. They do loosen with wear, however. I found sizing down was the best fit for me.

EDGY SANDALS & CROSSBODY BAG
Over the years of developing my personal style, I’ve learned that a cool shoe does wonders for a more minimal outfit. It makes it a little more edgy and unexpected. As a mom, comfort is also a priority, and these sandals fit the bill. They run slightly big; size down a half size.
For accessories on my mom days, I always carry a sling bag or crossbody bag like this. My kids are at the age where they don’t require me to carry diapers or bottles so a small bag that I can wear across my body and keep my hands free works best.

If you’re looking for outfit ideas beyond athleisure, I’ve got tons more ideas on Stitch & Salt. Feel free to browse the archives for more mom-friendly looks.

Hi! I love your outfits. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your height? You may already have shared this somewhere but I am new to your blog. It is so helpful that you include what size you are wearing in your outfits.
Hi! Thank you! I’m 5’3″. 🙂
