Matching sets are big this year, and in this post, I’m showing you how to style a matching set several different ways. The versatility of a matching set is that not only can the pieces be worn together for a very chic look, but each individual piece can be paired with other items from your closet.
I recently bought this linen blend matching set from Abercrombie. I first purchased the top, and then later saw that you could pair it with these belted linen blend shorts. There were actually so many options for tops to pair with these shorts. I like this top in particular though because it’s longer and therefore more versatile than some of the other tops which were quite cropped. the flutter sleeve detail is so pretty as well as the v-shaped tie back.
I styled this matching set seven different ways. All the items are linked below.
How To Style A Matching Set
LOOK ONE
Top // Shorts // Mules
This is the most obvious way to style this matching set, but I had to show you the pieces together. I honestly never thought I would be a matching set girl, but I’m into it. It looks super chic and put together. I have my true size in both pieces.
LOOK TWO
Tank // Shorts // Sneakers
Here’s a comfy little summer look for you. I like how this look is easy enough for everyday, but also feels put together. I’d definitely wear this outfit around the house, to the park with my kids, or running out for errands.
LOOK THREE
Top // Denim // Block Heels
I wanted to style this top a little more dressy for a possible date night look or drinks out with friends. These block heels are nice because the heel height is pretty minimal making them super easy to walk in. I paired this top with my trusty perfect vintage jeans from Madewell. They never do me wrong.
LOOK FOUR
Eyelet Top // Shorts // White Mules
If you’ve followed me for a hot minute, you’ve seen this little eyelet top many times before. I love it so much, and it’s super affordable. It’s slightly sheer, but I find it minimal if worn with a nude bra.
LOOK FIVE
Top // Denim // Espadrilles
I haven’t been wearing my skinny jeans as much lately, but I like pairing a looser top with a slimmer pant for balance. I recently picked up these cute little tan espadrilles from Target, and I can’t wait to style them with all my summer dresses.
LOOK SIX
Black Tank // Blazer // Shorts // Heels
This one may be my favorite of the bunch. I love a good blazer moment. I almost never wear pumps anymore, but couldn’t resist elevating this look with a cute heel. I’d probably wear this in my everyday stay-at-home mom life with some black sandals. Just recently bought these ones!
LOOK SEVEN
Top // Shorts // Padded Slides
The last look is this easy summer outfit with cut-off denim shorts and padded slides. I have my true size in these shorts.
I’m convinced that matching sets are surprisingly versatile. The linen blend material is light weight and perfect for summer. I’ve been thinking about ways to elevate my summer style this year. Usually when the weather turns hot and humid, I stick to denim shorts and plain tanks everyday. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with that, but I get a little bored with it. I’m glad to have this matching set as an option.
