Here is my second gift guide! This time I’m sharing gifts for little kids. (See gift ideas for her here!) I hope this gives you some ideas for quality toys for your kiddos this Christmas.
I have a strategy when it comes to buying my kids’ toys. I really try to focus mostly on toys that my kids will actually use. I still remember last year when we spent $50 on a three foot Paw Patrol headquarters toy that only got used one day and then took up space in our toy room for the next year. #neveragain
When I’m making a list for my kids (obviously taking their suggestions into account!), I try to stick to toys that inspire creativity, experimentation, and pretend play. They might not be the loudest or the shiniest or their favorite character, but these are the toys that will actually get played with. Not like that damn Paw Patrol headquarters.
Most of the toys below we own and can vouch for their quality.

9/ Kiwi Crate
10/ Melissa and Doug Ice Cream Counter

Gifts For Little Kids
This was my daughter’s first real bike. It’s really great quality, and she spent all summer and fall riding around the park on it.
We bought this coloring case for the kids two years ago, and they LOVED it. It comes with markers, crayons, and colored pencils.
We don’t own this exact set, but a similar one from this brand. It is so well-made.
My son plays with his Duplo blocks almost everyday.
I’m always amazed at the things my kids build with their Magna Tiles. Mom Tip – the more you have, the more complex their structures can be.
My son loves helping me in the kitchen so this year I’m gifting him this kid-friendly knife set.
My kids have a cheap doctor’s set that is basically falling apart. This wooden set looks so beautiful and will get hours of pretend play.
My kids wait for the day their Kiwi Crate arrives! This STEM inspired subscription box is perfect for bringing out their little scientist.
We own a few of the Melissa and Doug food play sets, and they are always a hit. This year, my daughter asked for this ice cream counter set that she plays with at our neighbor’s house.
We bought this balance bike for my son when he turned 2, and since then he has learned to cruise like a pro on it. Highly recommend!
