A romper is one of the easiest outfits to put on – it makes two decisions (choosing a top and a bottom) into one. I had been searching for a nice romper to add to my summer capsule wardrobe and found this one from Other Stories. I like that it’s all black (so chic!) and also that it’s belted to define the waist (also so chic!) It is selling out fast, but this one and this one are fairly similar. In this post, I’m showing you five romper outfit ideas for summer.
Rompers are a little less versatile than separates, in my opinion, so when choosing one I like to keep it more minimal looking to really maximize it’s versatility. Before I purchase anything, I ALWAYS think about how I would incorporate it into my wardrobe. For this romper, I came up with five ways to style it for summer. It would also work for early fall and late spring as well with some layers or a top underneath.
Five Romper Outfit Ideas For Summer
LOOK ONE: Out and About

Romper // Denim Jacket // Sneakers // Canvas Tote Bag // Gold Studs // Sunglasses
By out and about, I mean those days when you’re running around doing errands, things around the house, taking kids to playdates or sports, etc. I call these my mom shoes because they are so comfortable and easy to throw on (of course, I never untie them!) I added a denim jacket for when you are inside in the cold air conditioning and a simple canvas bag for a chic but functional carry all. Some simple accessories like cool sunglasses and gold stud earrings elevate the look.
LOOK TWO: Happy Hour

Romper // Blazer (sold out from H&M; similar) // Black Sandals // Bag // Gold Studs
Meetings your friends for happy hour cocktails? Here’s your look. This is definitely my favorite of the bunch (a blazer is always a winner in my book!) This blazer is sold out, but H&M usually comes out with a different version really often so if you’re looking for an affordable option, keep checking their site for new arrivals!
LOOK THREE: Picnic At The Park

Romper // Sandals (affordable option) // Straw Hat // Coin Necklace // Sunglasses
When the weather isn’t too stifling, I love packing up some food (usually some goodies from the farmer’s market) and heading to a nice green space for some relaxation. The kids usually eat all the sweet stuff (fruit and cookies!) then spend the rest of the time running around by our blanket, playing tag or some weird game they made up (it usually involves dinosaurs and unicorns!) This outfit is perfect for a picnic. It’s comfortable with these beautiful toe ring sandals and includes a hat and sunglasses for protecting your skin from the sun.
LOOK FOUR: Coffee Meetup

Romper // White Button Down (code ASHLEY15) // Sandals (code ASHLEYR15) // Bag (code ASHLEYR15) // Gold Studs
This look is for those casual occasions when you still want to look polished. I have been really loving the look of a white button down worn open (especially a light cotton or linen one!) It’s a really nice light layer for summer that can be easily removed if it gets too warm.
LOOK FIVE: Date Night

Romper // Heeled Sandals // Coin Necklace // Clutch // Gold Hoops
I always have to include a date night look in these style sessions. It’s important to me that most pieces that I buy have the versatility to be dressed up or down. This romper fits the bill! My go-to date night accessories for summer include these heeled sandals, minimal gold jewelry, and a clutch bag.
