In this post, I’m reviewing the Everlane Way High Jean for petites.
I have been wanting to try the Everlane Way High Jean since it was released last year so when Everlane offered to send me a pair, I jumped at the chance. I’ve long been a fan of Everlane denim. My first pair was their classic Authentic Stretch High Rise Skinny Jean which I purchased about four years ago. I also own the Everlane Original Cheeky Jean in white. They just launched their Way High Color Jean which comes in five colorways.
For this review, I’m discussing fit, sizing for petites, color options, and sustainability.

Everlane Way High Denim Review
Everlane Way High Jeans Fit

Everlane Way High Jeans have an ultra high rise fit with the actual rise being 12 1/8″. For reference, I find that other typical high rise denim is between 10 to 11 inches. This is my favorite detail! If you have short legs like me, a higher waist gives the illusion of longer legs.
These are a true straight leg denim with no tapering through the leg. The material is 98% organic cotton with 2% elastane which gives them a bit of stretch while still holding you in for a flattering fit. Plus, the pockets are just the right size to make your bootie look GOOD.

This jean option from Everlane does not come in an ankle length as other Everlane denim options do. I find they do run long on me. For reference, I’m 5’3″ and wearing a size 24. I hadn’t yet for these photos, but I do plan on cutting off about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of the bottom hem to give them more of a cropped length. This is just my personal preference. Full length denim is on trend right now so you could just keep the length, too.

Everlane Way High Jean Sizing
I find Everlane denim to run a little big in my opinion, and this is true of their Way High Jean as well. If you are curvy in the waist or thighs, I would stay true to size, however. My true size is a 25, and I sized down to the 24. These fit me perfectly in the waist (my actual waist measurement is 26″) with extra room in the thighs. I read through several reviews as well and found most either sized down or stayed true to size.

Color Options
For the new Way High Color Jean, there are five color options – Earth (burnt orange), Soybean (pictured above – a tan shade that leans a little pale yellow), Day Break (lavender), Deep Lapis (muted royal blue), and aqua gray (mint).
They also have their original blue denim colorways as well, my favorites being the light indigo and distressed.

Sustainability
I’m a big fan of Everlane, not only for their modern and clean aesthetic, but also for their sustainable manufacturing processes.
The Way High Color Jean is colored with a special dye which is made with less harmful chemicals and also requires less water in the garment dying process which results in less toxic waste water. These jeans are also made with 98% organic cotton. And as always, Everlane partners with ethical factories around the world that are transparent about wages and working conditions.

Overall Impressions
I’m really really impressed with this denim! Like I said above, I have been wanting to try the Everlane Way High Jean for a long time, and now that I have, I’ll definitely be picking up another pair pretty soon for my spring capsule. For more of my spring style inspiration, check out this post.
