What’s your Thanksgiving outfit strategy? Are you the ‘comfy all the way with leggings and an oversized sweater’ person or are you the ‘let’s get dressed up because it’s a holiday’ type of person? I fall in the latter camp! I kind of love getting dressed up a little for holidays. This probably has something to do with the fact that I don’t have many reasons to get dressed up in my regular ol’ stay-at-home mom life. With that said, I’m sharing some Thanksgiving Day outfit ideas below.
I tried to share some more dressed up options as well as some casual options. This year, Danny and I are hosting his family on Thanksgiving Day at our house. I’m working on our menu plan right now! We are also celebrating with my family the following Saturday. I’m looking forward to eating lots of good food and plenty of family time.
Five Thanksgiving Day Outfit Ideas
LOOK ONE

Maxi Dress and Booties
You may think a maxi dress is kind of fancy, but in actuality this is probably the most comfortable outfit on this list, stretchy waistband included. Swap for flats if heels are just too much for a day of cooking and hanging around with family. Truth be told, I’ll probably be barefoot most of the day. This maxi dress is from a local boutique, but I’ve linked a bunch of cute options below.
LOOK TWO

Sweater With A Maxi Dress and Booties
For this second look, I’ve simply put a sweater over my maxi dress. For this technique, just take a belt and loop around your waist. Then tuck the sweater into the belt. Of course, a belt on Thanksgiving day is a big ask so if this look’s not for you, see the beltless options below.
LOOK THREE

A Sweater Paired With Your Favorite Denim and Loafers
No surprises here. Sometimes the simplest of looks are the ones we feel most comfortable in. I love the balloon sleeves on this cream colored sweater. Plus, it’s really affordable, too. A great pair of denim and comfortable flats like these loafers round out this classic look.
LOOK FOUR

Orange Blouse Paired With Denim And Cognac Loafers
Nothing says fall like an orange top, especially in this deep rust color. This top is old from Madewell, but they sell a similar one right now with a peplum cut. I also linked a few other tops in the same shade. I kept the same denim and cognac loafers for this look.
LOOK FIVE

Pair Your Favorite White Button Down With Straight Denim And Booties
You can wear any white button down, but I just love the feminine and trendy peter pan collar on this one I recently picked up from Target. I can’t wait to fancy it up for some holiday outfits. Pair with some straight denim and heeled booties, this look is perfect for Thanksgiving Day.
There are five Thanksgiving outfit ideas for you! After spending last Thanksgiving at home by ourselves, I’m so excited to be able to get together with family this year. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Stay tuned for more holiday outfit ideas!
