I don’t wear too many patterned pieces, but one pattern that I’m obsessed with is stripes, especially for spring. It’s just so classic. I’ve had many striped tops over the years and have worn them over and over again. In this post, I’m sharing a roundup of striped tops for spring.
A striped top is a spring essential for me. My personal style is very much inspired by the classic ‘French girl.’ Although, I am aware this is a stereotype and that there are many different ways that French girls dress. But if you’re browsing Pinterest and search ‘French girl,’ you will undoubtedly be presented with photos of well-dressed women wearing stripes. It’s a pattern that will never go out of style.

Striped Tee // Denim (take your smaller size) // Sneakers // Straw Bag // Baseball Cap
The striped top I’m wearing in the photos here is from ABLE and has a cropped boxy fit with a navy stripe. The material is heavier than a normal tee, and it’s also really soft. I’m wearing my true size XS. I went with a classic look, pairing my striped tee with straight denim, white sneakers, a straw bag, and a baseball cap (the not so French accessory, but one I love nevertheless).
In the early spring, when the weather is still pretty chilly, I like to layer my striped tops under spring outerwear, like my green utility jacket, blazers, and trench coat. Then, when the weather warms up, I’ll style the same tops on their own with jeans or shorts.

I also own this black and white striped tee from Madewell which is really casual and comfortable and perfect for wearing under spring layers. I also recently added this striped sweater from Madewell (see me wearing it here!) and love the retro vibes. For summer, I have this navy and white striped tank from Everlane that I wore so much last year. Below, you’ll see a roundup of striped tops to shop from my favorite retailers. I’ve linked several at different price points, but, as you’ll see, most are under $50.
