The big day is nearing! Have you completed your Christmas shopping yet? I’ve finished mine (a few weeks ago), but I’m still working on a few stocking stuffers. Does anybody else despise this part of Christmas shopping? As someone who generally hates clutter and little toys that get lost and fall apart, stocking stuffers are a nuisance to me. I definitely fall into the camp of people who choose to fill my kids’ stockings with things they need. I still include a few fun things, but mostly these are items I’m going to have to purchase anyway.
With all that in mind, I’d thought I’d share what I’m putting in my kids’ stockings this year. My kids are 3 and 4 so they still get excited about new underwear with their favorite characters and cute bandages. In addition to the list below, I always include a new toothbrush and a couple treats. I hope this gives you some ideas!

- Re-Play Drinking Cups // My kids are always going through cups like crazy throughout the day (why does one small person need 3 cups for each meal?). These cups by the brand Re-Play are made in the USA from recycled milk jugs, come in tons of different colors, and are available on Amazon. I have several plates from this brand, too.
- Kid’s Umbrella // Ellie has been asking for her own umbrella all year. We bought this dinosaur one for Leo and Ellie this unicorn one (she’s obsessed with unicorns).
- Welly Kids Bravery Badges // Nothing like a cute bandage to cure a small cut or scrape, am I right? These bravery badges (how cute is that name) are so adorable and will make any kid smile.
- Underwear // Oh yes, I went there. If you’re not putting your kid’s yearly supply of underwear in their stocking, you’re doing it wrong. Just make sure to pick your kid’s personal favorite character or theme.
- Kid’s Flatware Set // A battle commences every night when it’s time to set the table, each kid fighting over who gets this or that fork and spoon (the most wanted changes nightly). In a desperate attempt to end this nightly saga, I bought them each their own flatware set. This one includes a case which will be nice next year when I’m packing Ellie’s lunches for school.
- Petit Puzzle // This little puzzle by Petit Collage looks adorable, and it’s pretty small so it will fit nicely in their stockings. We own floor puzzles by this brand and can attest that the quality and design are really nice.
- Markers // This one is not very exciting, but I’m including markers in my kids’ stockings because I know its something they’ll use.
- Driven Toy Cars // We always include some toy cars every year. Leo is obsessed with vehicles, and Ellie likes to play along with him. I’m linking this set by Driven which is a really good quality brand. Of course, you can always just purchase regular old Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars, too.
- Animal Figurines // I’m linking this set of animals, but I purchased individual ones at Target for their stockings. I bought them each a lion figurine (their current favorite pretend game is to play “Lion Guard” from the show on Disney Plus. They are lots of other animal options available. I love how these animals encourage imaginative and pretend play.
- Hooded Bath Towel // I would buy these just to see my kids in them. We actually purchased a towel for Ellie and Leo last year, and they still love them. The material on these is a little scratchy, but my kid’s don’t seem to mind.
- Card Games // My kids are finally reaching the age where they like to play games (Ellie more so than Leo). I love games so this is an exciting development in my parenting journey. I will probably split this pack up between each of their stockings.
