It’s back to school time! I’m a little bit sad that summer vacation is coming to an end, but mostly, I’m so excited for the kids to head back to school. I’m a routine person, and the laissez faire style of summer isn’t my favorite. We, of course, made the most of our summer with countless trips to the pool, bike rides, trips to the ice cream shop, and very late bedtimes. It was summer dreams at it’s finest, but my kids are starting to get real sick of each other. The school year can’t start soon enough!
To get the kids excited for school, I made them each a back to school basket. Some items are just for fun, and others are things they are going to need for the school year. You could also add a backpack or lunchbox into this if you’re buying them for your kids this year, but mine already have theirs. We use these backpacks and these stainless steel bento style lunch boxes. Both are pretty pricey, but my hope is that they can use them for many years.
Back To School Baskets
- Water Bottle // I like that these particular water bottles don’t have a straw (one more thing that can get lost), as well as a rubber bottom to prevent scratches.
- Alarm Clock // I’m all about raising my kids to be responsible for themselves, and this year I want to teach my oldest, who will be in first grade, to wake up on her own for school. This alarm clock is also an okay-to-wake clock, night light, and noise machine as well.
- Pajamas // My kids are always growing out of their pajamas so new ones were a must. These affordable letter ones are perfect for back-to-school. I got this set for my daughter who prefers to sleep in shorts and a tee.
- Sweatshirt // Pretty soon, the kids will be needing an extra layer for the morning trip to school. This hoodie is so cute with it’s little spikes on the hood. I ordered this pink one for my daughter.
- Back-To-School Themed Book // My son is a huge dinosaur fan so I ordered him this dinosaur book (the entire series is really cute). For my daughter, I ordered her this first grade themed book.
- Fresh Socks // Boring, but necessary. I like these crew socks with the double stripes. I got this set for my daughter.
- Reusable Snack Bags // I like these little pouches for packing loose snacks for my kids like nuts, dried fruit, and popcorn. I got this design for my daughter.
- Backpack Keychain // Kids love to personalize their backpacks with keychains now. I ordered each of my kids these keychains with their names in their favorite color.
