Do you own the J. Crew Sweater Blazer. I just purchased this blazer a few weeks ago when they were on sale for 40% off. I own the J. Crew Factory version but have always coveted the original. I love the oversized fit and the three quarters sleeves.
I’ve mentioned this before, but whenever I purchase a new item, I like to style it several different ways to make sure it will be a versatile addition to my wardrobe. I really love that this blazer works dressed casually with leggings as well as gussied up with a pair of heels.
I wavered back and forth between the brown and gray style, but ultimately went with the brown because I think it will fit in nicely with my winter wardrobe. I may spring for the gray color in the Spring! The blazer fits a little oversized so if you’d like it more form fitting, I would size down one.
LOOK ONE
Sweater Blazer // Gray Tee // Faux Leather Leggings // Sneakers
Starting this style session off with a leggings and sneakers look. I have the regular length in these leggings, but really wished I had the petite (they released petite sizing after I purchased these). I have to fold the leggings under about 5 inches so they stop at the right point on my ankle. Maybe someday, I’ll actually get them hemmed!
LOOK TWO
Sweater Blazer // Graphic Tee (old from Madewell, similar) // Jeans // Boots
I’m a huge fan of graphic tees (Cool ones, of course, not the silly ones with the dumb phrases. Apparently, I have strong opinions on graphic tees?). They can turn this preppy blazer into a cool outfit. This tee is from Madewell last year, but I’ve linked a similar option.
LOOK THREE
Sweater Blazer // Breton Top // Jeans // Chelsea Boots
This would be a good casual, everyday mom outfit for me. It feels easy and comfortable. I just need to add some thick socks (and a warm coat) for these Kansas winters. I’m NOT ready for that yet.
LOOK FOUR
Sweater Blazer // Black Tee // Jeans // Mules
I really love pairing this brown color with black. Remember how we would NEVER do that. You had to wear a black belt with black shoes and a brown belt with brown shoes. I like this new rule free version of style we got going these days. As a note – it appears Everlane no longer carries the washed black version of their Authentic Stretch High Rise Skinny Jeans (what I’m wearing above), but they do sell a button fly version which I’ve linked.
LOOK FIVE
Sweater Blazer // Button Down // Jeans // Boots
Okay, this may be my favorite look. This button down is everything. I own the green and the black version, and they have the most beautiful draping.
LOOK SIX
Sweater Blazer // Bodysuit (no longer available, similar) // Jeans // Heels (no longer available, similar)
Tuck this outfit idea away for later. I don’t see myself wearing these heels for awhile, but I wanted to see how I could dress this blazer up for date night or drinks with friends (remember those?). I pulled out my Grandma’s clutch for this look. This Everlane bodysuit is no longer available, but I’m linking the cami version which looks even better!
