I was “influenced” to purchased this button front cardigan from Target! In this post, I’m styling it six different ways for winter and spring.
I have been seeing this button front cardigan (similar option here!) from Target floating around the Instagram fashion scene for the last week, and I was totally influenced to buy it. At first, I wasn’t sure if it would be versatile enough for my wardrobe, but after doing a little pairing with pieces from my closet, I decided it was a keeper. I thought I’d share the outfits I made with this little cream cardigan. It is going to be a great piece to move us into Spring (can’t wait!). I sized up to the small for a looser boxier fit, but you could stick to your true size, too. I also love it in the black and rust colors.
And just an FYI, if you rotated the camera slightly to the right in the pictures below, you would see two rambunctious kiddos jumping on my bed and playing swords with hangers. The pictures make the scene appear quite peaceful, but I can assure you, it was not!
LOOK ONE
Cardigan // Bodysuit (old from Everlane; similar) // Jeans // Mules (old from Target, similar)
I wanted to style the cardigan one way with it buttoned in front. I paired it with a sleeveless bodysuit since its pretty low cut worn this way. These jeans are the Perfect Vintage Jean from Madewell, and they are one of my favorite styles of denim (I own it in three different washes!). I sized down one size in these jeans. I also have the petite style (I’m 5′ 3” with short legs).
LOOK TWO
Cardigan // Striped Tee (old from Madewell, similar) // Jeans // Mules (old from Old Navy)
I really like this cream cardigan paired with a striped top. They are kind of a vice of mine (I own several). I also really love pairing creams and browns with blacks and grays. It creates a nice balance of tones. These heeled mules are from Old Navy, and I couldn’t find a similar option in this price range, but any cognac shoes would work here.
LOOK THREE
Cardigan // Tee // Joggers // Sneakers
Of course, I had to include a comfy outfit for this season of life. I know tons of people are wearing loungewear exclusively these days. No judgement here. These gray joggers from Target are really soft and cozy, but they did start pilling after a few washes. You get what you pay for with these!
LOOK FOUR
Cardigan // Turtleneck // Jeans // Boots
This is a good outfit for January in Kansas! These boots fit true to size. The jeans are an old curvy high rise skinny jean from Madewell that are no longer available, but I linked a pair that is almost identical.
LOOK FIVE
Cardigan // Tee (limited sizing available, similar in more boxy cut) // Faux Leather Leggings // Sneakers
I’ve been searching for more longer tops to wear with my faux leather leggings, and this cardigan works perfect. Since I sized up one size, the cardigan is long enough to cover my backside.
LOOK SIX
Cardigan // Long Sleeved Tee (old from Madewell, similar) // Jeans // Mules
Of course, I had to see how this cream cardigan paired with my favorite non-neutral color, olive green. It definitely works! This was one of my favorite outfits of this style session. This is another pair of the Madewell Perfect Vintage Jean (I’m obsessed!). These are slightly more cropped than the other washes I own.
