When I shared my spring wishlist in March, I included the the Alex Mill Standard Jumpsuit. I have had my eye on it for a year, and I budgeted my money to purchase it this April. It is a bit of an investment at $215 so if you want a personal opinion on whether it’s worth the price, I’m sharing a complete review in this post. In this review, I’m discussing fit, sizing, and my overall impressions.

Review of the Alex Mill Standard Jumpsuit

Fit
I’m very picky about jumpsuits – I’m not into that onesie look! I want one that is mostly fitted through the body but not too tight, and the Alex Mill Standard Jumpsuit honestly fits me just how I want it to.
The jumpsuit is a utility style with a pocket at the chest, two at the waist, and two on the back as well. The material is pretty structured and made of 98% cotton and 2% spandex.

One detail that I particularly like is the adjustable tabs at the sides that allow you to cinch the waist a bit for a more flattering look (see the photo above.) The description says that the leg is slightly cropped, but at 5’3″ I found I needed to roll the leg to get that cropped fit. I don’t mind the rolled look though. The sleeves are slightly shorter as well and the end lands just before my wrists. The sleeves also have button on the cuff that can be undone, and the sleeve rolled to your desired length.
One of my biggest pet peeves with jumpsuits is that they tend to bag out in the bottom and thighs as you wear them throughout the day, and, good news, I didn’t have this problem with this jumpsuit at all.

Sizing
As I tend to do with most things I purchase, I obsessively read the reviews to determine the best size for me. The description states that the jumpsuit fits true to size, but based on reviews that say it runs a little long for petites, I ended up sizing down to the XXS which was a good choice (it’s still long on me!) If you’re not petite, I would stay true to size though. It has a little wiggle room in the bust and midsection as well.

Overall Impressions
So…do I think the Alex Mill Standard Jumpsuit is worth the price? Absolutely! The quality is really nice, and the fit is perfection. You can tell it was designed very thoughtfully. However, it’s definitely a ‘fun’ piece, and you don’t necessarily need it to have a complete wardrobe. It can be styled a few ways, but it’s not as versatile as separates. That is something to keep in mind when deciding whether to purchase it.
The color I wearing is called ‘Oat Milk’ and it does have a little bit of a flight suit vibe, but I don’t mind that. It also comes in seven other colorways including black, army green, navy, gray, hickory, and flight blue.
