I’m approaching my wardrobe a little differently this year. In an effort to really hone my personal style and build a closet of pieces I love, I created a list of wardrobe goals for 2025. These are action items I want to take this year to better understand my style, make more intentional purchases, and work on building a more curated closet. I want more data, more information, and more creativity. I want to be able to walk into my (well organized) closet and know that every piece in there deserves it’s spot. So let’s get into my seven wardrobe goals for this year.
Log all my outfits in Indyx.
After seeing people share their Indyx wardrobes, I immediately became super jealous. The ability to create outfits from your own closet and track your wardrobe digitally? Yes, please! I just started my Indyx account and am currently uploading my closet to it. Once that’s finished, I plan on tracking all my outfits within the app. I’m unreasonably excited for this (nerd alert.)
Track my closet.
After doing a big closet edit at the beginning of the year (the state of things was horrendous!) I’ve decided I want better insight into the comings and goings of my closet. I’ve created a Wardrobe Additions 2025 page on Notion (see below!) and I’ll be tracking anything that gets added to my closet. I’m looking forward to reviewing this data at the end of the year.

Shop more secondhand and vintage pieces.
I’ve always said I wanted to do this but, admittedly, haven’t done well at it. I think because maybe I didn’t really know what to look for or wasn’t shopping brands that were available secondhand. Now that I’ve gotten more into fashion and have an awareness of brands I like to shop, I think this will be easier for me this year. I’ll mainly be using The Real Real for this, but I’d also like to check out curated vintage shops if we travel to other cities.
Focus on quality over quantity.

I think the best wardrobes are made up of a combination of affordable finds and investment pieces. It’s that high/low mix that makes outfits feel accessible yet cool. However, I do want less of my purchases to come from fast fashion stores and more from mid-range brands that make quality pieces. I’m keeping a shopping wishlist in my Notion app that I’ll use to guide my purchases over the year (I’ll share my entire spring wishlist next month!)
Let my style words guide my purchases.

You’ve probably heard of the three word method coined by stylist Allison Bornstein. I’ve been mulling over which three words define my style, and though I haven’t quite landed on mine yet, (I have commitment issues!), I think they are probably classic, minimal, and effortless. Allison recommends using the three words to guide your closet purchases, and I want to start doing this more. If it doesn’t fit within my style words, it needs some serious thought.
Invest in more accessories.

After the aforementioned closet edit, I realized my closet is not lacking clothes but rather accessories. Accessories do SO MUCH for elevating a look. I’m definitely in need of more belts and I’d like some more chunky statement jewelry like a thick gold ring or structural necklace.
Explore bottoms outside of denim.
Denim will always be a major player in my wardrobe, but I’d like to explore other bottoms outside of jeans. I plan to invest in some more trousers this year. For spring, I am currently in the market for some cream colored pants and some silk pants as well. I’m excited to flex a new styling muscle!
