I’m sharing seven styles of my favorite denim! This post has been highly requested. As a stay-at-home mom, my wardrobe is pretty casual, and I wear denim most days of the week. I’ve got quite a collection now, and these seven are the ones I reach for most.
These come in at different price points between $88 and $198. This may seem like a lot of money, but after having to replace cheap jeans every year, I’ve started to invest more in my denim. I’ve had my Madewell jeans for many years, and they haven’t stretched out at all.
My favorite brands of denim are Agolde, Madewell, Everlane, and Levi’s. I also own a pair of Abercrombie denim which I like, but the fit isn’t as good as these other pairs I own. If I had to pick my favorites in this bunch, it would be the Agolde 90s Pinch Waist and the Levi’s Ribcage Denim.
When looking for denim, be sure to check the material. Some of these jeans are 100% cotton denim which means they are rigid non-stretch denim. Others have 98% or 99% cotton and 1 or 2% elastane which means they have a bit of stretch.
My Favorite Denim

These are my most asked about denim right now. I just love the fit on these. I took my smaller size, but they are TIGHT. I would recommend staying true to size. This is the Georgie wash, and it comes in and out of stock all the time. This wash is fully stocked at Nordstrom, and would be great for spring and summer.
Highlights:
Super high waisted (12 inches)
Wide cut straight leg
Ankle length
99% cotton
$98 to $108 (often on sale)

These jeans from Everlane are more of a mom-style straight leg. The bottom fits more relaxed and the denim is pretty thick. I have the short length, but ended up cutting a couple inches off. I take my smaller size in these.
Highlights:
High Waisted (11.75 inches)
Straight Leg
Available in ankle, regular, and tall
98% cotton (organic)
$88

This exact pair is a couple years old and is cropped. The current style of these have a longer length. These are a nice middle ground between skinny and straight because they are fitted through the butt and thighs and have a tapered leg opening. Check out Madewell’s site for all the different wash options. They also have a straight leg option in this cut. I take my smaller size in this style.
Highlights:
High Waisted (11 inches)
Fitted in thighs with tapered leg
Available in petite, regular, tall, and plus
99% cotton
$128

These were my first pair of Levi’s! They are my lowest rise jean but still are technically high rise. These are a slim straight leg denim and are made to give your bottom a little lift. They come in many different washes, and fit true to size.
Highlights:
High Waisted (10.5 inches)
Slim cut straight leg
Available in ankle length
99% cotton
$89.50 to $98

These are by far the most expensive pair on this list, but they are definitely my favorite. These are a wider cut straight leg. This is the Backdrop wash, but it comes in several other washes including nondistressed options. I took my smaller size, and they did start out incredibly tight but have since loosened up a bit. Here’s a full detailed review.

Super high waisted (12.75 inches)
Wide cut straight leg
Full length denim (I cut mine)
100% cotton (organic)
$198

This is a classic pair of straight leg denim. I have the cropped version which is perfect for petites. It also comes in a regular length, too. I’m wearing the Charleston Outlasted sash in this photo. Most washes appear to be out of stock on Levi’s website, but you can find pairs on Shopbop.
Highlights:
High Waisted (11.125 inches)
Straight Leg
Available in cropped and regular lengths
100% cotton
$98 (but often on sale)

This is my favorite style of Everlane denim. They are a rigid denim with a straight cut leg. You can stay true to size for a more relaxed fit, but I took my smaller size for a more fitted look. Like the Levi’s Wedgie, these are also made to lift your bottom.
