The Madewell Black Friday Sale is on! This year instead of listing out a bunch of different items, I put together some minimal outfit ideas using my favorite pieces from the sale. Some of these items I own, some are capsule wardrobe favorites that I recommend, and some are items are on my Madewell wishlist. All these pieces are 30% off with the sale.
I’ll list sizing out for the items I own, but in general, I always take my smaller size (24) and the petite length in Madewell pants and denim and my usual size (XS) in tops, sweaters and outerwear.
For these outfit ideas, I included some of my usual day-to-day casual outfits, but I also snuck in some party outfit ideas since the holiday season is coming up.

For A Fancy Party

A nice black slip dress is such a versatile option. It’s my go-to when I need to dress up for an event (which, admittedly, is not very often!) I own this slip dress and find it runs a little small. I would recommend sizing up, especially if you are large chested. I love adding metallics to my holiday inspired outfits to make them a little festive. These gold strappy sandals, handbag, and gold earrings complete this holiday party look.
Lunch With Friends

This is a very similar outfit to the one shown in the picture above except I’ve switched out the blue denim for black denim. I really love this color combination of black, olive green, and cream.
Casual Date Night

I just recently purchased these silver boots, and I love how they add a little interest to my minimal outfits. I’ve actually really been loving a statement shoe lately! A black bodysuit and jeans is my go-to combo for date night. I added this coat for warmth, and I also like how it pairs with the silver accessories.
Everyday Casual

This is a look I would wear everyday for my work-from-home/mom life duties. These 90’s jeans are a cool trendy style that has a longer inseam. I took my usual Madewell size in these, but for a more trendy loose fit, try going up a size. I like how the silver boots also pair with this gray and white color palette.
Thanksgiving Outfit Idea

I love this look for Thanksgiving. Something about the mix of chocolate brown and cream gives it a Thanksgiving vibe. This coat looks absolutely stunning and gets great reviews. I’m going to see if it gets restocked in my size. These jeans are the classic Madewell Perfect Vintage Jean which fits slim through the hips and thighs but has a slim straight leg through the calves. These are a great jean for transitioning away from skinny jeans.
Casual Office Look

This is such a cute look for a casual office. You could swap the jeans for trousers if you need to dress business casual though. This blazer is labeled as a ‘Tuxedo Coat’ and is made of wool so it can be worn as a coat as well (although probably in a more mild climate.)

Another dressy but casual outfit I always wear for date night is a silk cami and jeans. The metallic accessories here give it a more holiday party vibe. And yes, you can mix metals!

You’ve seen all these pieces in the outfits above, and now they are just mixed and matched to create a different outfit (this is basically how I create my wardrobe and make it as versatile as possible.) Again, I really love this color combination and the different textures in this outfit. This would be nice for a casual dinner option or happy hour.
