Have you hopped on the lug sole boot trend yet? I’ll admit, I was VERY hesitant about this one. I just thought they weren’t meant for my petite frame. Chunky shoes tend to look clunky and unflattering when you have short legs. However, I found a pair with a minimal (3/4″) platform that adds height without looking too chunky, and I was sold. I even added them to my fall capsule wardrobe.

What Are Lug Sole Boots
Lug sole boots were traditionally used as tough outdoor work shoes, but they’re currently trending as a boot option for us regular folks, too. The lug sole is made of rubber and has indentations and grooves that are meant to provide traction, making them functional for slippery surfaces and outdoor use.
You might have seen some styled in streetwear pictures that have a high platform and heel height (see here), but for petites, I prefer the platform to be minimal.
How I Styled My Lug Sole Boots
Here, I’ve paired them with my favorite affordable plaid blazer (similar options here, here, and here), trusty black turtleneck (a capsule wardrobe must-have!), my new favorite medium wash mom jeans from Mott and Bow, and my go-to black tote bag.
This pair is relatively affordable, too, at $99. Plus, they are water resistant which makes them perfect for those rainy fall days and winter slush.
Look for an upcoming post on various ways to style these boots! I’m sure they’re going to become a fall and winter favorite of mine. Also, check out this post with more ways to style this plaid blazer.
