We’ll be leaving for our trip to Hawaii soon, and I’ve been planning my packing list for at least a month. Planning my outfits is half the fun of the trip for me. In this post, I’m sharing my Hawaii packing list including clothing and accessories. I like to keep it efficient by packing pieces that can easily be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits. Here’s the breakdown of clothing and accessories:
7 Tops
4 Dresses
4 Bottoms
2 Swimsuits
3 Pairs of Shoes
1 Hat
1 Pair of Sunglasses
2 Bags
It’s probably more than I’ll need, but I typically like to have a day outfit and an evening outfit for each day of the trip. Another nice thing about a warm weather trip in terms of packing is that you can fit quite a few things in your suitcase – no coat required! You can use this packing list as inspiration for any warm weather vacations you have planned.
Hawaii Packing List
TOPS

White Button Down // I like using lightweight button downs as coverups at the beach and pool. I’m bringing the Matter Of Fact Shirt from Darling which is light and breezy. Use code ASHLEYR for 15% off.
Black Button Down // Another button down for a coverup but in black. Mine is a poplin shirt from Madewell. Here and here are similar options.
Black Cardigan // For breezy and cool evenings, I always pack a light cardigan. This one is from Quince and, it fits relaxed. I have my true size.
Green Tube Top & Black Tube Top // I bought these last summer (the same one in 2 colors), and I love that they can be worn on their own or easily layered. You can even fold them under to make a bandeau top, too. Mine are low in stock right now so here is a similar option.
Striped Tank // This is a versatile tank that can be worn with any of the bottoms I’m packing. I’ll likely wear this for daytime activities around the island.
Black Tank // This flowy black tank can also mixed and matched with all my bottoms.
DRESSES

Crochet Dress // I first shared this beautiful crochet dress in this post. I love the pretty details, and it’s lined throughout. I sized up one.
Black Eyelet Dress // This flowy dress will be nice for dinners out and evening beach walks. It has eyelet details on the top and a layered hem.
Tan Maxi Dress // This affordable dress is great quality for the price. It’s a little sweet but not ultra feminine, and it has pockets.
White Linen Dress // This new purchase from Dissh is my birthday present to myself. I absolutely love the cool straps in in the back, and it’s fully lined. It runs small; size up. Here is a more affordable option.
BOTTOMS

Black Wide Leg Pants // These pants are high waisted, relaxed, and super flowy – perfect for vacation. The cropped length also makes them petite-friendly.
Tan Linen Shorts // I’m packing a couple pairs of linen shorts for the trip which I’ll pair with my tank tops for daytime adventures. Mine are actually old from Madewell, but I linked a similar pair from J.Crew.
Denim Shorts // These sailor style denim shorts are on their way to me from Madewell (I had a birthday reward!) They come in regular, but I ordered them in curvy so they would fit looser and longer.
White Linen Shorts // Another easy, breezy pair of linen shorts. These are mine from last year, but I linked a similar option that is fully stocked.
SHOES/ACCESSORIES/SWIMWEAR

Beige Sandals // This is a minimal style sandal in a chic linen color. These will go with everything I packed.
Black Sandals // Mine are an older style from Beek, but I linked a very similar option. Here is a more affordable option.
White Sneakers // I always bring along a sneaker on vacation for days when we are doing a bunch of walking. These ones from Frēda Salvador are an investment, but they are so chic. This pair is similar but more budget-friendly.
Bucket Hat // For sunny days.
Sunglasses // My go-to sunglasses. I love the colors of the tortoiseshell frames.
Black Swimsuit // This one piece swimsuit is nice for being a mom at the beach. It fits well and has good coverage.
Green Swimsuit // I just ordered this affordable two piece swimsuit, and the quality is great. It has a good compression with a high waist and is just a little cheeky. I sized up to the small.
Black Rope Bag // I love this bag as a casual evening bag. Mine is the Clare V. Sunny Bag and is no longer available, but you could search for it on secondhand sites. I linked a similar option.
Straw Tote Bag // I just purchased this new straw tote last minute as I noticed my cat chewed a bit of my old one. It’s good sized for a day at the beach, but not too big.
I will also be packing a few pieces of simple jewelry, some beach supplies, and our snorkeling gear, along with reef-safe sunscreen and my usual toiletries.
