For my last spring capsule wardrobe of the year, I was highly inspired by some recent posts on the blog including these RomCom inspired looks, these Nancy Meyers’ inspired looks, and these ’90s mom looks . I am going for easy and chic mom vibes – outfits that are practical but still put together. Definitely check out those posts for more inspiration! I stuck with neutral colors and classic pieces but added in a few trendy styles in my footwear. I’m very excited for this one!
Now that it’s a bit warmer, I’ve ditched a lot of my heavier outerwear in favor of more tops. I will, however, be wearing my button downs open like a light jacket. I also included a dress (look at me!) and swapped some heavier footwear for sandals.
Spring Capsule Wardrobe: May 2026
Tops

Black Tank & White Tank // A foundational piece you’ll probably be seeing in my capsules through the summer. I like this one from J.Crew because the neckline is a bit higher and the weight is substantial and not see-through. I bought my true size.
Striped Tee // This striped tee from Sézane was also in my April Capsule – I love it! It’s casual yet chic and perfect for mom life. I’ve already worn it tons. It fits true to size.
Gray Cardigan // This is a new purchase from Alex Mill, and I’m very happy with it. I also bought the matching bottoms. The material is a heavyweight cotton jersey that feels really nice. It has the perfect cropped length that doesn’t show any belly when worn with high waisted pants, and it also doesn’t need to be tucked in which makes it feel effortless and easy.
Ivory Sweater // A basic cotton sweater is a spring capsule must-have for me. I like wearing mine with shorts when the weather is just right, but you can also throw it over your shoulders as a third piece in warmer weather. This fits true to size for a relaxed fit.
Sweatshirt // I was inspired to add a graphic sweatshirt to my wardrobe from that iconic photo of Princess Di wearing hers with biker shorts. This one is from a local Chicago business!
White Shirt // This cotton poplin button down shirt from Gap is great for warmer weather. It’s light and airy and has an oversized fit. I’ll be wearing mine unbuttoned with shorts and pants for an easy spring look.
White Blouse // Spring brings out my feminine side – I simply must have a pretty little white blouse in my spring capsule wardrobe. This one is from Sézane, and she’s just darling. See me wearing it in this post.
Black Tee & White Tee // The two most worn pieces in my closet. Both of these are from Sézane, but the black one has a more classic fit and the white one has an oversized fit and slightly longer sleeve.
Brown Shirt // This is another cotton poplin button down, but this one is from Alex Mill. In terms of fit, the Gap one has an oversized fit while this one has a relaxed fit. I would also say the Alex Mill one has a little more structure as well. I have my true size in both.
Denim Shirt // Inspired by the ’90s mom outfits and Chessy from The Parent Trap, I just had to include this denim shirt in my capsule wardrobe. I’ll be wearing it more as outerwear styled over a tee or tank.
Outerwear

Suede Jacket // This is one of my favorite jackets for spring. It basically makes an outfit ten times more cool. I recommend going up a size – it runs small in the arms and shoulders.
Anorak Jacket // This is a lightweight utility jacket that kind of has a cropped trench look to it. It has an oversized fit.
Bottoms & Dresses

Medium Wash Jeans // Just a classic, high waisted straight jean with a medium wash. They are so versatile and can be styled with any top in my capsule.
Ecru Jeans // White bottoms are a must if you’re hoping to achieve that Nancy Meyers’ vibe like me. All white from head to toe is one of her signature looks. I took my larger size in these, and they also come in two inseams.
Gray Soft Pants // These are the matching pants to the gray cardigan I mentioned above. They have an elastic waist (say less) and a cropped length that’s very petite friendly. True to size.
Striped Boxer Shorts // Even though boxer shorts are pretty trendy, these striped ones from Donni actually look more like a regular cotton short because of the striped pattern. The are so comfortable and have held up so well after many wears. I took my true size.
White Shorts // These shorts are new from Sézane, and they are so good! I know shorts can be very difficult to shop for, but I can’t recommend these ones enough. The are a cotton twill with pleats in the front and a button fly. They fit nice and loose on the thighs, too. See me wearing them in this reel. I took my true size for Sézane (size 2).
Denim Shorts // By far my favorite denim shorts with a high waist and an a-line cut through the thighs. I own them in black and light blue but just purchased them in this medium wash. I recommend taking your larger size.
Black Maxi Skirt // This is a new skirt from Quince that I received for an upcoming collaboration. An easy, breezy skirt to pair with tanks and sandals.
Striped Dress // This dress is such a great spring/summer staple. It has this chic striped pattern and a loose flowy fit though the bottom. I got my true size.
Shoes

Leopard Flats // I’m obsessed with these flats from Sézane. Surprisingly, the go with everything in my closet. Sézane footwear sizing is a bit weird – check the size chart.
White Flip Flops // I snagged these white flip flops from Amazon. With shoes like this, it’s very hard to tell cheap from expensive, and I go for the budget version when it makes sense.
Gold Slide Sandals // I love adding a little metallic to my outfits for texture variation and a pop of color. These can be used to dress up a more casual outfit, too.
Black Slide Sandals // This is a timeless style but in an edgy crushed leather material. They make a statement! I got my true size. LTK15 for 15% off.
Beige Jellies // I also ordered these jellies from Amazon. I did not want to spend a ton on a trend I’m not sure is going to last, but I was loving how they looked on others so I went for it.
Canvas Sneakers // Yes, I purchased a pair of Keds! I was totally inspired by those RomCom looks to add a canvas sneaker to my shoe lineup. They look SO CUTE on! Plus, they are also kind of on trend as well – go figure.
Accessories
For accessories lately I’ve been sticking with minimal jewelry for a more clean look – I switch between these earrings and these earrings. For bags, I’ll be using mostly this classic canvas tote from Land’s End, this midi sling bag from Abby Alley (ASHLEYR15 for 15% off) and this basket bag from Sézane. You can find my go-to sunglasses here.
