New month, new capsule! I have to say – I love this one. The color palette and simplicity feels very me. I found it very easy to make outfits from this capsule which is always a good sign. For my February capsule, I have ten tops, five pieces of outerwear, six bottoms and six shoes. I also included accessories to round out the looks which are linked below as well.
There are always lessons learned each month, and after reflecting on my January capsule, I learned that I’m always trying to force trousers into my winter capsules, but I am always reaching for my jeans anyway. I love wearing them with flip flops in the spring and summer, but they feel very formal for my casual life when paired with loafers or boots. So this month, I included only denim, albeit in every color of the denim rainbow from white, brown, blue, and black. If you need to dress business casual, just swap a few pairs of denim for some trousers. I’m just a denim girl at heart. I also decided to include more outerwear this time around because I got pretty bored of the three options I included in my last capsule.
Per usual, I’m breaking down the pieces I included in my capsule below along with sizing recommendations, as well as tons of outfit ideas.
Winter Capsule Wardrobe: February 2026
Tops

Black Long Sleeve Tee & White Long Sleeve Tee // These are just some basic long sleeve tops to wear under my sweaters (or possibly on their own on an unseasonably warm winter day, fingers crossed!) These are a good quality heavyweight tee. They run small – I recommend sizing up.
Gray Sweater // It’s not a winter capsule wardrobe for me without a gray sweater. In January, I included this darker gray cotton sweater (still a favorite!), but I’m switching it up with this lighter gray cashmere one for February. All the outfit ideas below would work with either though!
Black Sweater // Another cashmere sweater (I think I have three in this capsule!). I’ll wear this layered over a white tee and also over my shoulders as a scarf. Mine is from Everlane, but I also own this one and recommend it as well.
Denim Shirt // I’m planning to use this patchwork denim shirt in my February capsule as a fun statement piece, but any denim shirt would work. Here and here are similar ones to mine, and here and here are good plain denim shirt options.
Taupe Cardigan // This was a new purchase from January, and I’m still loving it. It’s definitely going to get a lot of wear from me. It is pricey, but know that the quality is nice, and the fit is perfection. Here is a more affordable option. I got my true size.
Black Hoodie // A hoodie or sweatshirt is a weekend staple for me. I love how it looks with a long wool coat with the hood peeking out the top. I went up a size for a more slouchy fit.
Ivory Sweater // This cotton sweater has gone viral for good reason. It’s really affordable, and the oversized fit is perfect. I have a green one in my true size, but I just bought this ivory one in a size up for a more slouchy fit.
Brown Button Down // I included this brown button down in my recent travel capsule, and I just had to have it (hazard of the job!) I highly recommend this button down – it’s really affordable and has a great oversized fit. I stay true to size.
Camel Sweater // I received this camel sweater for an upcoming collaboration and had to include it in my capsule. It is the same style as the gray cashmere one above. I just love this sweater so much; I want every (neutral) color. Just a note that in person, this sweater is much more cool toned mushroomy taupe than the tan color on the site.
Bottoms

Indigo Barrel Jeans // This indigo denim has a slight barrel leg. If you’re looking to try this trend, this is a good option as it’s quite subtle. I definitely recommend going up a size in these.
Light Wash Jeans // These are probably my most worn jeans. They have a comfortable mid-rise with a relaxed fit. I took my smaller size; they relax a bit with wear.
Medium Wash Jeans // These jeans from Pistola were gifted to me in January, and I knew immediately I wanted to include them in my next capsule. They are really comfortable for cotton denim, and I love this medium wash.
Brown Wide Leg Jeans (similar) // Brown denim is a new trend on the scene, and I typically love every trend involving denim so sign me up. These have a high rise and a wide leg and are very petite-friendly.
White Jeans // I recently purchased these jeans to replace my other white denim that got stained, and I love the fit. They are a straight leg with a mid-rise and a relaxed fit that feels vintage. I recommend getting your true size for a relaxed fit. If you’re not petite, go with this pair. See this post for more size and fit info.
Black Jeans // These are the same jeans as my light wash pair above. They are pricey but worth it. I also took my smaller size in this wash as well.
Outerwear

Tan Blazer // I didn’t include a blazer in my January Capsule, and I missed them. For February, I chose this tan blazer from Everlane that has a perfect relaxed fit. I plan to pair it with my long sleeve tees and add a sweater over the shoulders.
Green Puffer Coat // I only included two coats in my January Capsule, and I kind of missed having some variety in that category so I searched my closet for more options. This green puffer coat from Quince hits at the hips but is very warm.
Brown Wool Coat // This brown wool coat has a higher wool content and is quite warm so I can get away with wearing it on colder days (anything above 10 degrees works for me.) I got my true size.
Black Puffer Coat // Not the most chic coat option but a necessary one nonetheless. This is what I wear when the weather is single digits or below.
Green Wool Coat // This belted wool coat from Mango is on the thinner side, but I think I can get away with wearing it if I layer it well. I love this green color. If your size is sold out, this one is similar.
Shoes

If you’re going to invest in one category of your wardrobe – make it your footwear. Footwear trends tend to stick around for awhile, and your shoes definitely take on the most wear over time. They need to be durable!
Suede Loafers // These suede loafers from Bared Footwear are so cool! I love this brand by the way. This color looks so good with denim. These were gifted.
White Loafers // I like having a statement shoe in my capsule wardrobes. They do so much for a look. This white pair from Bared Footwear definitely fits the bill. These were also gifted.
Brown Boots // I always include a pair of brown boots and a pair of black boots in my capsule wardrobe. My exact pair are these suede ones (now sold out), but I’m linking the same pair in a leather option which is honestly more practical for winter in Chicago.
Snow Boots // To be honest, I don’t enjoy wearing snow boots, and I try to avoid them at all costs, but I’m including them because they are necessary for winter in Chicago. My shearling lined Chelsea boots (linked below) have actually been getting more wear this winter.
Black Boots // These have probably been my most worn boot this winter. They have a elongated toe box and slim mid -shaft that just looks perfect with all my denim. Plus they have good support, and I can walk in them all day.
Chelsea Boots // As I mentioned, these boots have been my go-to for snowy days (thank you to the followers who recommended this brand!) They are shearling-lined so my feet stay nice and cozy even in a few inches of snow.
Accessories
I picked up a few new accessories for this capsule wardrobe. Two pairs of sunglasses (a tan framed pair and a Ray-Ban Wayfarer dupe, two croc-embossed leather belts in black and brown , a bandana, and a new pendant necklace. I’m also planning to continue wearing my go-to silver chunky hoops (similar) my knot earrings, and my paperclip necklace (similar). For bags, I think this capsule goes really well with my faux suede slouchy bag, my black tote, and my ivory crocodile embossed sling bag (ASHLEYR15 for 15% off).
