Welcome to The Weekly Edit! In this weekly series, I share my daily outfits and other things I’m enjoying this week, like books, articles, podcasts, sale finds, instagram accounts, and recipes.
Happy weekend, friends! This weekend will prove to be an exciting one given that our local Kansas City Chiefs are set to play in the Superbowl! Obviously, we have no big Superbowl parties this year, but I’m planning on preparing a few appetizers and watching the game with Danny and the kiddos. Their favorite player is Mahomes, of course, and they get excited when they see him in those State Farm commercials (LOL!). In other news, I peeked at the weather next week, and, holy shit, it’s going to be freezing. I’m really not looking forward to that winter fun.
In today’s edition of The Weekly Edit, I’m sharing my daily outfits as usual, plus a new book I read (I loved it!), a funny podcast, some new recipes we tried this week, and a big sale that’s happening at one of my favorite brands. Check out all the details below.

I just finished reading this historical fiction novel, and I absolutely loved it. I really enjoyed the strong female protagonist who is sassy and intelligent.
J. Crew is having a 50% off sale! This sweater blazer (shown above) is marked down to $74 which is the lowest it ever is. I’m wearing my true size (XS), but it does run large so size down one if you’re looking for a more fitted look. They also added a few more colors. The Heather Natural and the Stainless Steel are calling to me.
Why we shouldn’t teach our kids to be “colorblind” when it comes to race.
I’m putting some of these books on my library list.
I listened to this podcast episode from This American Life, and it had me cracking up.
I’m slightly obsessed with French girl style and beauty, and somehow I missed this video from October of Lily Collins (from Emily in Paris) showing her day to night French girl look.
Have you made any recipes from Ambitious Kitchen yet? We made her pulled chicken recipe and healthy turkey chili recipe this week, and we loved both.
Danny and I started watching Catastrophe on Amazon this week, and it’s hysterical. It’s pretty vulgar so consider yourself warned!
If you’re looking for Valentine’s Day ideas this year, I shared a post with a bunch of fun ideas to celebrate with your significant other and also some cute ideas to make the holiday special for kids, too.
Have a great weekend and go Chiefs!
