Hello, friends! Happy weekend. Summer officially kicked off here in Kansas City this week with temperatures in the 80’s. I took the kids on some summertime adventures, including a visit to the Overland Park Arboretum where we did a scavenger hunt and a trip to the splash pad on Friday after picking up treats from McClain’s Bakery. An extra cup of caffeine is usually my treat!
The kids also started swim lessons after a long break off when they were cancelled last March due to COVID. I’m hoping with swim lessons and lots of trips to the pool this summer that their swim skills will improve and we can move away from using their puddle jumpers.
I’m still trying to nail down a summer routine for my blog. I started this little side project when the kids started preschool last Fall so usually I’ve had about 8 hours of uninterrupted time each week to write and take photos, and those precious hours will be gone this summer. The kids have a summer camp next week so I’m hoping to be able to get ahead on a few posts.

After signing up for HBO Max to watch Friends, we finally had access to Mare of Easttown which everyone has been raving about. We stayed up till midnight (that’s late for me!) binging the last 3 episodes Friday night.
I just ordered this leopard print one-piece swimsuit from Aerie after hearing good things about it from Amanda.
I started listing to this audiobook while on my runs and doing chores around the house. It’s good so far!
Lillie just shared this recipe for quick Mexican chicken salad which seems like a yummy summer lunch option. I might make a batch this week!
We are heading out on a road trip on Friday (yay!) so I just picked up this card game to have around when we are in our hotel rooms.
We are hoping to be able to fit in a few date nights this summer. Loved these mom approved date night looks.
