It’s been awhile since my last Monday Edition. I shared the reason for my absence on Instagram and to my newsletter subscribers, but I’ve been recovering from a very unexpected hospitalization for a small brain hemorrhage. You can hear more about that here.
The recovery has been slow but steady with a few ups and downs including a recent stress induced flare up of my Crohn’s Disease. It’s honestly been the toughest season of my life to date, and I’m not sure if I could have gotten through without the support of my family who came to stay with us here in Seattle. Danny has also been my rock encouraging me at every turn and talking me off a ledge more times than I can count. I’ve also recently started therapy to manage my post trauma anxiety.
I’m not through it yet, but I’m definitely feeling much better than I have since it happened. I totally missed being present on my blog and posting. It feels good to be back. I’ll be posting more in the coming weeks, but the frequency will probably be less as I ease back into things.
In this edition, I’m sharing some recent outfits (it’s still cold here!), some books and shows I’ve enjoyed during my recovery, and my favorite finds from the Memorial Day sales.
STYLE
Here’s some recent outfits I’ve been wearing. Much to my dismay, the weather here has been chilly, somewhat rainy, and totally not summery. I’m very jealous of those of you rocking your linen pieces and flowy dresses. You can find links to all these outfits on my Daily Looks page.
ENTERTAINMENT
In the last two months, I’ve read three novels, all of which I enjoyed immensely. First up, this thriller by Lisa Jewell which I read in the hospital kept me highly entertained. Next up, I finally got around to reading the ever popular Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros which is a fantasy book about a college of dragon riders with a little smut mixed in. I loved it. And lastly, I’m just finishing up Kristin Hannah latest book, The Women, which centers around the Vietnam War. It’s tragic and sad, but I do think it’s one of her best books. If you’re new to Kristin Hannah start with The Nightingale which is my favorite of hers.
Did you watch the new season of Bridgerton yet? I can’t wait for the next episode drop in June.
We are so late to the party here, but we just started Ted Lasso on Apple TV in an effort to find some light-hearted entertainment during this tumultuous time.
MDW SALES
Everlane is 25% off sitewide. I just purchased these Way High Curve Jeans in this summery ‘chanterelle’ color, and these shorts in the bone color.
Gap has some good summer finds including this linen blend dress, this linen-blend cropped tank which matches these shorts, and this linen blend boyfriend shirt which could double as a cover-up.
Madewell has a sale on summer essentials for 25% off. I spotted these linen shorts, these strappy sandals, this slip dress which I own in black, this straw hat, and this white denim mini dress.
I have a few favorites from ABLE that are currently 30% off including these breezy pants (see them styled six ways here), this high quality tee, and this striped midi dress.
I recently bought two of these tees from KULE which are currently 20% off if you purchase more than one. I have the black/cream and the white/beige colors.
