Because summer outfits tend to be pretty basic by necessity, adding some accessories can go a long way in creating interesting and layered outfits. I’m seeing tons of textured and statement accessories being worn these days, and I think it’s the perfect way to add some playfulness to your outfit without adding any bulk (and without spending a ton of money!) In this post, I’m rounding up my favorite summer accessories trends for 2025 and giving you some in each category to shop. Some you’ll see are a bit more classic like baseball caps and scarves, while some are more trendy like bag charms and beaded necklaces. I would just pick a couple that fit your personal style to wear this summer and beyond. Personally, I’m very into the woven bags and pendant necklaces.
Summer Accessories For 2025
Woven & Rope Bags

Creating interesting summer looks is all about texture. And how do you do that when your outfits tend to be more simple? By accessorizing with texture. Enter the woven or rope bag. Woven bags are not new to the summer scene, but instead of raffia and straw bags, I’m seeing a lot of woven leather and rope bags. They come in many colors and sizes from totes to shoulder bags, and even little dainty handbags. I’m very much drawn to the those in the cream variety hence my recommendations above (peep that butter yellow one, too!) but many of these styles also come in black.
Baseball Cap

For sun protection and on days when you may be postponing your hair wash, a baseball cap is a good option. The first three hats shown here are ones I own and are my most worn. If you love a preppy look (possibly you’re into the sweater over your shoulders vibe) then you may consider the Polo baseball cap. I’m drawn to this type of look in the spring and summertime especially which is giving coastal New England vibes.
Raffia Hats

The raffia hat is always trending this time of year, and for good reason. Sun protection is important! Look for one with a wide(ish) brim that covers your face. I find fit is hard so you may need to test out a few to find the right one for your uniquely shaped head. I’ve linked a few here at different price points.
Scarves

Although classic, the way you wear your scarf is the trend instead of the actual scarf. I’ve got a few really simple and easy styling ideas in this post, but one I didn’t include was the scarf around the waist (see here for inspo.) You would need one that was decently sized to pull off this look so consider size when making your purchase. My scarf is cotton but silk is also a good option. Of course, an Hermés scarf is fashion goals, but I’ve linked some more affordable options above.
Beaded Jewelry

A trend my 9 year old daughter would love! Although she might go for something multicolored, my minimal tastes can be persuaded to try one in a red or green shade. These is an easy, no sweat way to add some color and summery vibes to your simple outfits.
Bag Charms

This is one trend that is slowly growing on me, but I’m not sure if I’ll bite the bullet. These are cute little keychains you can add to a bag for some color and texture. They feel youthful and a little boho. I’ve linked some above that I’m tempted by. I think these look best on a polished leather bag which balances out the playfulness.
Pendant Necklaces

You may have seen jewelry styles shifting from dainty and small to more chunky statement pieces recently. Large pendant necklaces like the ones here are HUGE right now. I own the one with the red stone from Heaven Mayhem. I’ve been wearing it a ton in the summer months to add interest to a basic tee or tank look. Depending on the style you choose, you could go a little more boho with a shell pendant or more modern with a sculptural piece. Either way, it’s sure to be the highlight of your outfit.
