The Simple Black Slip Dress

This is usually my go-to for any event, and I keep one in my closet at all times. Mine is from Everlane, but this one from Quince is a really affordable option. Black is usually my color of choice for a slip dress, but know that this one comes in tons of colorways to suit your fancy.

The Spicy Red Dress

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, red just hits better in the summertime. This number is sexy as hell, too, and it’s from Sézane so you know the quality is going to be on point. I love the wide set neckline which I think flatters the shoulders and the modest slit up the front. It comes in black and cream, too (but obviously avoid the cream color for a wedding.)

The Tent Dress

For those of you who can’t stand anything too tight, may I introduce the tent dress. She’s giving goddess vibes. Click the link to see the cute little tie in the back, too. I also love how the model is wearing her hair back in a sleek bun which balances the flowiness of the dress. Well done, COS, well done.

The Open Back Dress

Nobody has mastered the art of the sexy dress like Reformation. I’m a sucker for an open back so you know this one had to make the list. The front is a nice and high halter neck so you’ve got some balance going on there. I also love the statement bracelet with this simple and sleek dress.

The 90s Minimalist Dress

This one gives a nod to the 90s trend in an elegant way. The strapless neckline has a fold-over detail which fancies it up a bit. She’s simple, chic, and very cool while also under $150 and fully stocked.

The Better Than Basic Slip Dress

I’ve been seeing all sorts of interesting better than basic ‘going out tops’ with interesting ties and twists on the straps and necklines. This is the dress version of that. The way that little piece of stain drapes along the arm? Beautiful. The straps are also adjustable, too.

The Chocolate Brown Dress

You know I HAD to include a dress in my favorite color of the year. This is another option with wide set straps and a sexy slit similar to the red one above. What can I say, this combination just works.

The Pleated Princess Dress

For those of you who prefer a more feminine silhouette, this corseted number from Anthropologie is for you. From head to toe, there is something to catch your eye – the teeny spaghetti straps, the corseted bodice, the full pleated skirt. It also comes in a lovely rust color (can you tell I’m partial to the earthy tones?) Someone buy this, please.
