Ready for another capsule wardrobe? This one’s a bit different because I’ll be packing this ALL in a large suitcase and saying goodbye to the rest of my wardrobe while we stay in our AirBnB between moves. If you missed it, check out this post for more details! For this time between homes, this will be all the clothes I have access to besides a couple school drop off looks (basically 2 sweatshirts and two pairs of relaxed fit jeans), five days of workout clothes, and my pajamas.
The weather here in Seattle can still be quite chilly with a little June gloom. For that reason, I kept some more layers in the capsule and included a range of outfit ideas below for both cold and hot weather. I guess my moving anxiety made me quite productive because I created fifty (!!) outfit ideas from these twenty-five pieces. I was on a roll and couldn’t stop.
Some new pieces that I purchased specifically for this capsule wardrobe:
Gap Organic Cotton Poplin Big Shirt // I own a few white button downs but none in this lightweight cotton poplin which is airy and light and perfect for looking chic in hot weather. It runs very oversized at true size, but I LOVE it that way.
Sézane Conrad Tee // For a little color in this very neutral capsule, I snagged this red tee from Sézane. Red in the summertime just hits right, don’t ya think? I size up to the small in these tees.
Gap Black Cardigan // This and the boxer short purchase below were heavily influenced by this SAHM capsule wardrobe I recently posted. It’ll be super versatile and can pair with all the bottoms in this capsule as well as worn over the shoulders for some texture.
Donnie The Pop Boxer // My first Donnie purchase! And it won’t be my last. These blue striped shorts give a nod to the boxer trend with those little buttons down the front, but they look polished, too.
Na Nin Oliver Raw Silk Short // These raw silk shorts feel like a soft linen and have a bit of nubbiness to them that gives them this really cool laid back California vibe. The fit is spot on, too! They’re pricey but worth it in my opinion.
As you can see, I tend to shop when I’m stressed (hello moving across the country.) Let’s get into the capsule!
Early Summer Capsule Wardrobe
Summer Capsule Tops

Black Tank // This basic black tank is really great quality and works well for layering or wearing on it’s own.
White Tee // This tee from Leset was a purchase for my spring capsule, and I’m getting so much wear out of it. It’s great to wear on it’s own with jeans, but I love the look of a long sleeved top with shorts so that’s how I plan to style it mostly for warmer weather.
Poplin Shirt // A lightweight button down is so versatile. Wear it untucked, tucked, buttoned, unbuttoned, with a sweater over the shoulders, or as a swimsuit coverup. This one gives easy breezy beach vibes. It gets restocked regularly so sign up for the restock notification if your size is sold out.
Red Tee // I have so many plans for this red tee. I love it paired with white, cream, blue, and brown.
Sweater Tee // This sweater tee is a linen cotton blend, and it’s really lightweight while still looking chic and elevated. As I’ve said (many many times), a sweater tee is a nice swap for a basic cotton tee. Use code ASHLEY20 for 20% off.
Sweater Tank // This is the same material as the sweater tee above but in a tank version. I adore this beautiful chocolate brown color which I’ll be pairing with black, white, cream, and blue. ASHLEY20 for 20% off.
Black Vest // This waistcoat has been patiently hanging in my closet waiting for it’s moment, and it’s finally warm enough! Mine has limited stock, but this one from Madewell is really similar.
Cream Tee // This raw silk tee from Ozma is a vibe. Like the raw silk shorts I mentioned above, this tee has a bit of lived in nubbiness. It runs a bit small; I sized up for a looser and less cropped fit.
Striped Sweater // This $50 striped cotton sweater is a steall for the quality. It’s giving coastal grandmother vibes for sure. I’ll be wearing it over my shoulders with that poplin button down and with all my shorts for a transitional look.
Summer Capsule Outerwear

Black Cardigan // A lighter layer that can be worn on it’s own or layered with a tank or tee or under a jacket.
Suede Jacket // A suede jacket might seem odd for a summer capsule, but I just can’t let go of my suede quite yet. It will be nice to have for cool mornings and evenings, and I kind of dig the look of a more typical winter piece paired with summery pieces.
Denim Jacket // I pulled this one out from the closet archives recently and just loved how I felt in it. Mine is old from Madwell and has this real cool oversized fit. As far as summer layers go, this one is a bit classic and a bit cool. I linked one with a similar fit above.
Spring Capsule Bottoms

Ecru Jeans // It’s not spring or summer without a pair of white denim. This pair is more of a creamy off white hue which is much easier to style than stark white. I go up a size in these jeans.
Black Pants // These raw silk pants are pricey but you won’t find another pair with this perfectly slouchy, tapered fit. Believe me, I shopped around. I sized down to the XXS.
Barrel Jeans // I’ve been raving about these jeans for awhile. They are the. perfect entry point into the barrel leg trend since the curve is much more subtle than the horseshoe styles I’ve seen on all the cool girls. This wash runs a smidge small; consider sizing up.
Light Wash Jeans // These are a favorite pair of baggy jeans. The material is so soft and drapes really nicely. They run quite big; I went down 2 sizes so they would sit higher up on my natural waist.
Boxer Shorts // I saw boxer shorts poping up as a trend last summer, and I was perplexed. But now? Now I’m very much into it. This pair is really good quality, too.
White Shorts // I talked more about these above, but these might be my favorite bottoms of the bunch. They run slightly small in the waist; consider going up a size.
Poplin Skirt // I included this skirt in my early spring capsule and have already worn it a ton. I’m excited to pair it with more of my tanks and tees this summer. The waist runs large; size down.
Summer Capsule Wardrobe Shoes

Black Sandals // A pair of strappy black sandals pretty much goes with everything. Mine are from Dolce Vita and sold out; similar option linked.
Mesh Flats // This pair of mesh flats has been a standout favorite this spring, and they’ll work well into summer, too. They are so comfortable at first wear.
Suede Loafers // Channeling the ‘wrong shoe theory’ here by including these suede loafers in my summer capsule. I love they way they elevate a shorts outfit.
Brown Flip Flops // I included two different pairs of these sandals in this capsule, one in a chocolaty brown color and another in a soft beige. They are just so easy to style, and I wore them a ton last summer.
Beige Flip Flops // Flips flops are all the rage, and these are just a great basic minimalist style that looks a bit more elevated than one made with rubber.
Sneakers // I kind of forgot about these sneakers until I saw them while packing up my closet. They are such a great low profile sneaker that feels very summery. Use code STITCHANDSALT10 for 10% off.
Accessories

Pendant Necklace // Cat Eye Sunglasses // Watch // Brown Sling Bag // Ivory Sling Bag // Gold Earrings // Silver Hoop Earrings (ASHLEYROHR10 for 10% off) // Scarf // Basket Bag (I have this one)
