One of my latest purchases for fall was the Sézane Emile Cardigan in this beautiful burgundy color (my latest color obsession!) This cardigan is one of Sézane staple pieces that’s available all the time with new color releases every so often. I did a post with a review of this sweater here if you’re looking for more information (plus one more outfit idea!) but, in summary, it’s a chic, cropped, chunky knit cardigan with buttons down the front. It can be a little scratchy for those of you who are sensitive to wool, but I wear this long sleeved scoop neck tee underneath which makes it more comfortable for me. I also recommend going down a size since it runs quite big.
I know many of you have since purchased this cardigan since I shared it a few weeks ago. I wanted to give you some outfit ideas in case you bought one and are looking for ways to style it. For this post, I did a range of outfits from casual at home to the office and dinner out. I love how versatile it is!
Sézane Emile Cardigan Outfits
Weekday Chic
This weekday chic outfit is a classic Parisian inspired combination with the Sézane Emile cardigan, cropped straight leg jeans, heeled ankle boots, and a trench coat. This is probably my favorite way to wear it for fall.
Casual Weekend
For the weekend, try pairing the cardigan with a pair of jeans and sneakers. The sneakers don’t have to match like mine! For this look, I wore the cardigan open with a tee underneath which makes it feel more casual. You could also try swapping the white tee for a different color, perhaps brown, gray, or navy.
Cozy At Home
For a cozy day at home, I’ll be wearing this cardigan with my silk pants with a drawstring waist. For this look, I wore the cardigan untucked for ease and added my most comfortable flats which I would probably swap for slippers if I were truly having a lounge day.
The Office
For those of you who dress business casual for work, this cardigan can be worn with trousers and loafers, too. I added a chic little scarf in a matching color and my sleekest tote bag that fits a laptop.
Casual Evening
If you’re heading out to dinner with friends or a casual date night, this cardigan can totally be dressed up for that occasion as well. For this look, I’m wearing a pair of full length black denim and metallic slingback heels with a vintage clutch bag.
I hope this post gave you some more styling ideas for this cardigan. You could also try wearing it with a maxi skirt, with a cute blouse underneath, or even tied around the shoulders like a scarf for a pop of color. It comes in tons of other colors as well (I love the red, gray, camel, and gold options!)
