I recently purchased a pair of green barrel pants to add to my wardrobe. They are a comfy and cool alternative to my usual denim. I wanted to do a styling post with outfit ideas in case you picked up a pair, too (or have a pair sitting in your closet!) This pair is really affordable and comes in three different inseam options. For reference, I’m wearing the petite, and I’m 5’3″. For sizing, I recommend staying true to size for a relaxed mid-rise fit and going down a size if you want them to fit higher up on the waist.
Although green is a neutral in my eyes, there are definitely colors I preferred to style it with including gray, shades of white and tan, burgundy and darker reds, black, and blue denim. However, if color is your jam, feel free to experiment!
And if barrel leg isn’t your style, I’ve linked some similar straight leg options at the bottom of this post.
Nine Outfits With Green Pants
With A Sweater & Loafers

Starting off pretty basic here, but it may actually be one of my favorites. It’s simple, chic, and comfortable. I really liked the gray and green pairing here with black accessories. For a more casual look, swap the loafers for a slim profile sneaker.
With A Leather Jacket & Flats

I’m going for a cool mom look here with this leather bomber jacket and mesh flats. For underneath, I’m just wearing a simple beige tee which looks nice against the green as well.
With A Striped Shirt & Mary Janes

This look feels a little more contrasting with the feminine striped shirt and Mary Jane flats paired with the more cool, casual look of the pants. I threw a sweater over my shoulders for added dimension.
With A Barn Jacket & Sneakers

Here’s what I would wear to my kid’s activities on a chilly fall Saturday morning. I’ve got on a black tee, barn jacket (any casual fall jacket will do!) and sneakers.
With A Button Down & Ballet Flats

Here’s an outfit you could wear to the office! I think this would look equally well with the button down tucked in, too. I added a sweater again as my third piece (it keeps me warm as well!)
With A Denim Shirt & Boat Shoes

Here’s another one of my favorites. I even wore something similar a few days ago. This combination of an oversized denim shirt and green pants just feels casual, cool, and easy to wear. I like leaving a few buttons undone at the top and bottom of my shirt to give it more movement.
With A Blazer & Flats

Another look for the office, this one pairs these green barrel pants with a blazer and ballet flats in a similar tone. I wore a striped sweater underneath to up the interest (this one is a wardrobe fave!)
With A Cardigan & Trench Coat

I love the ways these pants look with a fitted cardigan like this; it just balances out the casualness of the pants so nicely. I added a trench c0at as an optional layer and grabbed my spicy red ballet flats to finish the look. Love this one!
With A Pretty Blouse & Flats

And lastly, try pairing your green pants with a pretty blouse and any flats you like. The blouse pretty much makes the look so you can keep the rest of the outfit simple.
