Father’s Day is June 20th! Do you have something picked out for the dad in your life? I had Danny put together a list of Father’s Day gift ideas for fathers in his age group. I would say these gifts would be best for dads between 25 and 50 (although obviously this depends on the interests of each individual).
I’m going to be honest and tell you that Danny is much cooler than me. He always finds items that are trendy yet unique. I quit trying to pick out gifts for him a long time ago. He is the hardest person to shop for! Instead, I always have him give me a few ideas to choose from. This way I don’t have to stress about what to get him, and he gets a gift I know he loves. It works better for everyone.
In this gift guide, he included some items he owns and some new items that are on his wishlist. He included apparel and accessories, some camping gear, tools, a personal care time (oh yes), and some treats.
Father’s Day Gift Ideas for the Modern Dad
- Sportsman’s Axe: Danny received his axe as a groomsman’s gift a few years back, and he uses it all the time for random things, like chopping up kindling for our fire pit or to chop wood for the fire when we are camping.
- Katin Retro Easy Emblem 5-Panel Hat: This hat is made by the California based brand Katin who originally started out in the 50’s making boat covers and transitioned into surf apparel. I like the 5-Panel design of this hat which gives it a more trendy fit than the typical baseball cap.
- Minnetonka Moccasin: Danny owns these slippers and wears them constantly, even for running errands (don’t get me started on that!) They are super comfortable and have a rubber sole so they can be worn outside as well.
- Patagonia Men’s ‘Baggies’ Shorts: These shorts are made with quick drying recycled nylon so they can be worn in the water or as regular shorts. Danny owns these, too.
- Messenger Coffee: If you’re from Kansas City, you have heard of Messenger Coffee before. Us locals can buy it in many of the local coffee shop who use it to brew their coffee, but you can also buy it online, too.We love it. You can also check out this list for more ideas if your guy loves good coffee.
- Katin Local Cord Short: These are from the same brand as the hat listed above. These shorts come in a few other color options and are a nice light weight short option for the summer.
- Carhartt Madison Logo Cap: Every guy needs a Carhartt cap, right? These durable caps are pre-washed so they start out more soft and flexible.
- Black Diamond Headlamp: These headlamps come in super handy for camping and also for little projects around the house that require extra light.
- Leek Pocketknife: Every dad should have a pocketknife handy just in case he needs to, you know, cut open those annoying plastic ties from the Barbie doll package.
- Milwaukee Magnetic Tape Measure: This magnetic tape measurer is handy to have for all the little projects dads (or moms, obviously) do around the house, like hanging bookshelves or that intricate gallery wall you have planned for the guest bathroom.
- Giraffe Retractable Garden Hose: This hose is nice because it retracts so you don’t have to worry about winding up yards of hose after you’ve finished watering the garden. You can also lock it in place at any length, too.
- The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies: If your hubby loves treats, make him these cookies. These are a copycat recipe for the famous Levain Bakery cookies in NYC. We visited the bakery when we were in NYC for our 10th anniversary. These cookies are THICK and doughy in the middle.
- Quiet Life Bryant Dad Hat: This hat is made by a small L.A. based company. What’s more fitting for Father’s Day than a dad hat?
- Manscaped Electric Hair Trimmer: If you’re man likes to stay ‘well-groomed,’ this trimmer comes in handy. Danny owns this and recommends it.
