By request, I’m sharing a men’s capsule wardrobe for Spring/Summer. This was my first foray into menswear, but the capsule wardrobe principles are pretty much the same across the spectrum.
I consulted my husband Danny to create this men’s capsule wardrobe. Thanks, Danny! Many of the pieces are items he actually owns and recommends. I’ve rounded it out with some of my own selections. Obviously, the wardrobe needs of each person differs based on work, climate, and personal preferences, but I attempted to make this capsule wardrobe as versatile and wearable as possible. This one aligns well with Danny’s lifestyle. He works in the tech industry which is typically pretty casual – jeans are acceptable for the office. If you need to dress formal for work, swap in more work appropriate trousers.
Here are some of the brands Danny shops and recommends:
Mack Weldon // Modern basics made comfortable. Danny particularly likes the pant options from here that look like trousers but feel like joggers.
Taylor Stitch // Well made sustainable men’s clothing with a slightly rugged vibe. I would say this is good for someone who likes to dress well but not formal. Danny has several tees and shirts from this brand.
Todd Snyder // This brand is based in New York and specializes in modern, elevated menswear. They do a range from suiting to sportswear.
J.Crew // Classic, affordable men’s styles. Danny often finds sweaters or shirts here that fit well and are reasonable priced. I’ve included a few pieces from J.Crew in this capsule.
Roark // Casual, durable, menswear meant for adventuring outdoors. Danny likes this brand for comfortable shorts to wear on weekends or vacation.
Other Brands for Men:
Based on my own shopping, I would recommend these brands as well based on quality and style:
Buck Mason // If I could dress Danny myself, head to toe, in one brand, it would probably be Buck Mason. I love their elevated, chic menswear. I added a couple tees from Buck Mason to this capsule.
Alex Mill // For more preppy menswear, try the brand Alex Mill for a modern utilitarian vibe made well.
Men’s Capsule Wardrobe for Spring & Summer

Men’s Capsule Wardrobe: Shirts & Outerwear
For shirts, I included a mix of t-shirts, button down shirts in long sleeve and short sleeve, a casual collared shirt, a sweatshirt, and a couple jackets.

White Tee // Camp Shirt // Gray Sweatshirt // Denim Jacket // Blue Button Down Shirt // Olive T-Shirt // Short Sleeve Button Up Shirt // Bomber Jacket
Men’s Capsule Wardrobe: Bottoms
For bottoms, I made sure to include various styles that work for the office and casual weekends as well as styles for the range of weather during the spring and summer seasons.

Casual Shorts // Chino Shorts // Navy Chinos // Jogger Pants // Light Wash Jeans
Men’s Capsule Wardrobe: Shoes & Accessories
I kept the footwear for this capsule wardrobe pretty casual – I don’t think I’ve ever seen Danny wear anything other than sneakers or sandals during the warmer months. However, I think a loafer or oxford looks really nice if you’re someone who dresses more formally for work.

White Sneaker // Suede Sneaker // Sandals // Baseball Cap // Sunglasses
