I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to think about what I want to wear as we move from winter into spring. It’s such an unpredictable stretch of the year, especially here in the Midwest, when the weather can swing from wintry to spring-like in a single 24-hour period.
Lately, I’ve been saving winter to spring outfits to my Pinterest boards for a little March inspiration. These are the kinds of looks that feel warm enough for those fifty-degree days, when you still want an extra layer like a trench coat, or a sweater draped over your shoulders that you can throw on as needed. And I also love having a lightweight wool coat like this one on hand; it’s such an easy, polished option for this in-between season.

I love how simple this look is – easy, polished, and effortless. The real star is the long trench coat, which (genuinely!) is one of my must-have pieces for spring, and you know I don’t say that often. I’ve linked a few great trench coats at different price points below. And as the weather warms, you could easily swap the black sweater for a tee or tank to keep the same vibe with a lighter feel.

Your boots will definitely still be in rotation for March, but instead of pairing them with a long wool coat, try swapping in a cool leather jacket. I’ve linked a few of my favorites below.
I recreated this look with a merino wool sweater tee, but honestly, layer with whatever you need for the day – the overall outfit will still read the same.

I don’t own a pair of white barrel jeans, but this look is really making me think I need to change that. Even though I wear white denim year-round, it just feels especially right for spring. Here, she’s styled them with a simple white tee, a suede jacket, and brown suede ballet flats – clean, classic, and so chic.

This look works whether you’re headed into the office or logging on from home. She’s wearing a white tee under a tan v-neck sweater, black barrel-leg pants (I’ve linked two options below), and brown loafers. It’s classic, but the layered tee and the shape of the pants give it that slightly more modern feel.

This look is perfect for a colder spring day: a gray sweater layered under a long brown coat (this color combo is chef’s kiss), relaxed jeans, and brown loafers. It’s chic and simple, and I already know I’ll be recreating it soon.

If you already own a tan trench coat, may I suggest adding a green one like this? I’m pretty sure she’s wearing the Sézane version which I also own (and highly recommend!). Here, she’s styled it over a crisp white button-down, light-wash jeans, and pointed-toe ballet flats.

Spring is definitely the time of year when I wear my blazers the most. Depending on how heavy yours is, it can absolutely keep you warm on a chilly spring day. I love how she’s layered a gray sweater over a gray blazer here. It feels cozy but still polished. You could recreate the same effect with pretty much any sweater + blazer combo in similar tones.

This is a casual-but-elevated office look: a tee, suede jacket, black trousers, and cap-toe ballet flats. I don’t own flats like this, so I’d just swap in a similar pair in brown or black.

Here’s another similar spring look, but with a blazer. I love it styled simply like this – with a tee, jeans, and flats.

And lastly, here’s a transitional look with a white skirt. I wore mine so much last year and fully plan to do the same this spring. She’s styled it here with a blue button-down, a striped sweater over the shoulders, and Mary Jane flats. Personally, I’d probably leave the button-down untucked for a slightly more undone, effortless feel.
